Not only were there two new members in the top 10 ( Garrett Shoemaker Garrett Shoemaker 6'8" | SF Oak Forest Academy | 2025 State LA & Daijon Letterman), there were other players who saw their ranking trend upward. In this rankings review, we will take a look at players who those notable players were that rose in the newest version of the 2025 rankings.
Tate McCurry Tate McCurry 6'3" | CG Catholic | 2025 State LA (6’3″ | Catholic | #11)
When it comes to shooters in the state, no one shoots it better than McCurry. He is great in catch-and-shoot situations and even better after freezing defenders with a jab step. His ability to get to the rim has made him very hard to guard in his junior season. Teams are game planning to take him away which is a high sign of respect. He just missed out on the top 10 but might see himself there by season’s end.
Chris Lindo Chris Lindo 6'6" | PF Madison Prep | 2025 State LA (6’6″ | Madison Prep | #13)
Lindo has grown as a player and it has shown on the court early this season. Chris has defended many of the top power forwards/centers around the state and held his own. What has been a surprise has been his willingness to take players off the dribble. Driving left or right, Lindo has found success getting by defenders and finishing at the rim or getting fouled. His success has helped MPA be in the hunt again for a state title.
Kelinee Stone Kelinee Stone 6'4" | SF Woodlawn-Baton Rouge | 2025 State LA (6’5″ | Woodlawn-BR |#15)
Stone may be the perfect description of a forward in Louisiana. The Woodlawn-BR forward is at his best when he has the mid-range shot going and is hitting the offensive glass. That combination is hard to stop especially for his size. Stone can handle the ball in space and has a baseline jumper he seems to like. All of these things make him a forward to watch out for.
Cobe Landry Cobe Landry 6'5" | SF Hahnville | 2025 State LA (6’5″ | Hahnville | #20)
Landry plays both guard positions and plays them well. When he plays the lead guard, his teammates seem to get great looks at the basket or he finds them where they can score. When Cobe plays off the ball, he is at his most dangerous. He is very good at spotting up or dribbling into a three. Landry can also drive and shoot the mid-range. Landry’s ability to do multiple things well may have Hahnville playing for a title later this season.
