<p>The championship game of the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic was one of the best games of the season. Early on there was a lights out shot making show from both teams. Metamora looked in control for most of the game, but Bolingbrook freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] took over in the fourth quarter scoring 13 points in that quarter alone to get his team to OT. In the OT session it looked like Bolingbrook was going to win before the defending 3A champs and the #2 player in the senior class [player_tooltip player_id='1157231' first='Cooper' last='Koch'] grabbed it out of their grasp as he drained a pick/pop three with 5 seconds left. Thompson just missed a deep three with defenders draped all over him to try to win. Metamora won 72-71.</p>

<p>Iowa commit [player_tooltip player_id='1157231' first='Cooper' last='Koch'] hit one of the biggest shots of his career with that three. It is exactly the type of play that makes him so intriguing at the next level. Elite shot maker as a post that has an effortless release. Also did a nice job rolling to hoop and sealing in this game for 19 points. There were stretches where Winona State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1750712' first='Tyler' last='Mason'] was the best player on the floor. The two guard showed a high degree of shot making, athleticism, and passing while scoring 23 points and dishing out 4 dimes. The third key senior [player_tooltip player_id='1750597' first='Luke' last='Hopp'] put in work on the glass and just made key plays when needed scoring 10 points. Star 2025 wing [player_tooltip player_id='1545146' first='Matthew' last='Zobrist'] also had key moments in this one on both ends of the floor with his plus shooting and length on the defensive end notching 13 points.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] was the show for Bolingbrook. He went from star to superstar on that York court tonight! There was no doubt the best prospect long term on the floor was Thompson. He was magnificent blowing past defenders, using his go to spin move, sick mid-range jumpers, and making clutch threes. Also got after it defensively while scoring 31 points (10-19 FG). Bolingbrook big man [player_tooltip player_id='1385301' first='JT' last='Pettigrew'] was super effective on the defensive end blocking a ton of shots, rebounding in traffic, and finishing either with his right handed hook or on the offensive glass. He had 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks.</p>

<p><strong>Stanton Fights Through Injury to Get DGN 3rd Place</strong></p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>Downers Grove North finished up with a win on Saturday in the 3rd place game defeating Palatine 43-34. It was a pretty low scoring contest throughout although the two stars did eventually get it going. Princeton commit and DGN top 10 senior [player_tooltip player_id='1285524' first='Jack' last='Stanton'] went down with an ankle injury at the half, but it seemed like he played better after getting it taped. Stanton drained four triples in the game along with a turnaround jumper as the state's premier shot maker rained in 17 points in the win. They also have another sharp shooter on this squad that sometime flies under the radar in [player_tooltip player_id='1507492' first='Alex' last='Miller']. The lengthy wing hit 3 from distance for 11 points. Inside [player_tooltip player_id='1285493' first='Jake' last='Riemer'] did a nice job battling on the glass and scoring with nifty finishes for 6 points.</p>

<p>Palatine star [player_tooltip player_id='1541230' first='Connor' last='May'] struggled shooting it early and only hit one three in the game but the top 20 senior still racked up 17 points. The Wash U commit is a well built small forward that scored on crafty drives and had a sweet turnaround on the baseline early on.</p>
