The high school games on Friday afternoon and evening were Archbishop Stepinac against Perry and Campbell Hall against Basha.
Jaion had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 steal in Canyon International Academy’s loss to Veritas Academy on Friday afternoon. Pitt is a very mobile 4-man that has good touch inside, plays with physicality, and makes instinctual plays on the defensive end.
Miles had 11 points, 7 assists, and 7 steals in Canyon International Academy’s tough loss to Veritas Academy on Friday afternoon. Sadler looked incredibly quick and was nearly impossible to stay in front of, utilizing his tight handle and first step to routinely get into the teeth of the defense. He has great playmaking vision, shown by his 7 assists, and uses his quickness to get into passing lanes, shown by his 7 steals.
Andrew had 15 points, 5 rebounds, and one 3 in Veritas Academy’s win on Friday afternoon over Canyon International Academy. Nagy showed soft touch in the paint, was constantly around the rim grabbing rebounds, and was able to beat his man off the dribble on the perimeter. If Nagy can continue to develop his 3 point shot his offensive impact will significantly increase.

Kuai Deng
Kuai finished with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in Veritas Academy’s win over Canyon International Academy on Friday afternoon. The big exhibited good athleticism and footwork around the rim to get to spin moves and euro steps, and was very effective in transition as he controlled his body well.
Jeremiah had 18 points, 6 rebounds, three 3’s, and 4 steals in AZ Compass Prep’s loss to Wasatch Academy on Friday afternoon. Fears made plays on both ends in what was a tough matchup with the Wasatch Academy guard duo of Isiah Harwell and John Mobley Jr, as he was able to beat them off the dribble and attack the basket effectively (6/12 from the field). Jeremiah is also a threat from beyond the arc off the catch or dribble and provides floor spacing to his offense.
John had 22 points, 3 assists, three 3’s, and 2 steals in Wasatch Academy’s win over AZ Compass Prep on Friday afternoon. Mobley scored the ball effectively (9/16 from the field) inside the paint and from beyond the arc in this one as he used the threat of his jumper to beat defenders off the dribble to get into the paint.
Highlights
Bhan had 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals in Wasatch Academy’s victory over AZ Compass Prep on Friday afternoon. Buom is a good athlete, has good touch around the rim (finished 5/8 from the field, 3/4 from 3, and 3/3 from the free throw line), and has long arms that enable him to get numerous steals and rebounds.
Johnuel (“Boogie”) had 27 points (4 three’s), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals in Archbishop Stepinac’s buzzer beating win over Perry on Friday afternoon. Fland lead Stepinac in this one emotionally and on the scoresheet with strong drives to the basket in clutch moments, momentum shifting three’s, and steals on the defensive end. He attacks the basket with tremendous pace and can confidently finish with either hand.
Koa had 12 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in Perry’s loss to Archbishop Stepinac on Friday afternoon. He struggled from the field in this one and still made a positive impact in the game with his work in the mid range and on the glass. Peat could be more of a factor on the offensive end rebounding wise as all 12 of his rebounds came on defense.
D’Andre had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in Perry’s close loss to Archbishop Stepinac on Friday afternoon. Harrison operated efficiently in the mid range and in the paint in this one as he finished 8/14 from the field and made a strong contribution on the glass with 2 offensive and 6 defensive rebounds.

Baron had 19 points, was 7/7 from the field, and 5/5 from three in Campbell Hall’s win over Basha to cap off the evening on Friday. Bellamy had a flawless shooting performance on Friday night as he showed the ceiling of his ability to to be a catch and shoot player on the offensive end. He also showed his skills and effectiveness in transition as Baron possesses plus length and is a very good athlete.
Isaiah had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in Campbell Hall’s tough win over Basha late on Friday night. Johnson scored the ball very efficiently (5/7 from the field and 5/5 from the free throw line) in this one as he made several very difficult shots underscoring his good footwork and creative finishing ability.
