Continue ReadingEven though the record might not show it this kid is playing very well. Jackson has scored in double-figures every game and he is also getting really active off the ball. When it comes to rebounding as a guard he does a great job of cleaning things up attacking the boards. He also does a great job of getting that rebound and pushing tempo. He has been playing well on the ball and off the ball. One of those players that does not play around with the ball as he is getting really efficient buckets. Really tough pre-season slate but should increase his production moving into region play, stay tuned.
Highlights
The Harvard signee has been stellar in December and in his last two games he has been putting up 30 PPG and he is heading into a stretch where he will reach 1,500 points scored in the next three games. Look for him to get it as he is always active and moving without the ball and most importantly staying in line with the player with the ball. He is a solid catch and shoot guy and he is only getting a few buckets from deep. He has been expanding that game for sure.
Nash has really made a living at bullying his way into the paint and he has been playing at a high level that has put him in a position to reach 1,000 point club here in the next 2-3 games. Nash might be one of the most clever players at getting to the free-throw-line and when he doesn’t get that foul he is no slouch at finishing through the contact.
Martin has really made it difficult to defend him because he is taking what the defense is giving him. He is hitting from deep when teams go under and he is getting in the paint when teams go over and he can snake his way through the hedge. When he is creating he has some weapons and in due time he is going to get another weapon that could be a big time game changer. This will give Martin more option, so look for his assist to go up.
Anderson is playing some next man up basketball, he is taking advantage of the time he is getting on the floor as he is next up. Usually Westlake does not play the youngsters but this kid is hard to not play as he earns every minute that he is out there. In his last 4 games he has been putting up about 19 PPG and it seems like he has really put together that inside outside attack together and he is not settling for just launching three’s. Keep an eye on him over at Westlake as he continues to get better.
