Brandon McCoy Brandon McCoy 6'4" | CG St. John Bosco | 2026 State CA-S , Jr. | 2026 | St. John Bosco
McCoy is one of the highest-ranked prospects in the event and it was easy to see why. The 6-foot-4 combo guard finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds in smooth and easy fashion in a 20-point win over Clovis North. The sophomore has elite next-level athleticism, effortless elevation on his jumper and can score from just about every spot on the floor.
Brayden Burries Brayden Burries 6'4" | SF Roosevelt | 2025 State #13 Nation CA-S | 2025 | Roosevelt
Burries, along with McCoy, is the other five-star prospect at The Classic at Damien and his 29-point effort, including clutch baskets down the stretch of the game, proved why he’s such a highly-regarded recruit. The physical and explosive wing is difficult to keep in front because of his ability to power through contact or shift by it with his change of direction. The junior lived at the charity stripe against Branson.
Dillan Shaw Dillan Shaw 6'7" | PF Heritage Christian | 2025 State #163 Nation CA-S | 2025 | Heritage Christian
Shaw is was super aggressive from the jump and keyed the Warriors’ attempt at a second-half comeback. The 6-foot-7 wing finished with a team-high 21 points – many of those on slashing baskets to the rim in transition or catch and shoot opportunities.
Gavin Hightower Gavin Hightower 6'0" | PG Windward | 2025 State #99 Nation CA-S | 2025 | Windward
Hightower is one of the best scoring point guards that we have in SoCal. The 6-footer is as aggressive as they come in the open court and his ability to attack at full speed while staying on balance and under control makes him a guy who is difficult to keep in front. Hightower is an impressive finisher at the rim despite his lack of size.
Gene Roebuck | 2027 | La Mirada
Roebuck is one of the more highly-touted freshmen we’ve had in a while in SoCal and he made his case to be in consideration as one of the top 2027 prospects in the country. The 6-foot-5 wing scored a game-high 34 points in a loss to Owyhee and did so with versatility, creativity and tough shot-making. Roebuck has throwback feel to his scoring ability with his post footwork and touch.
Isaac Williamson Isaac Williamson 6'1" | SG Riverside Poly | 2025 State #351 Nation CA-S | 2025 | Roosevelt
There are few prospects in SoCal who can match Williamson’s shooting ability and his ability to heat up in a hurry. The 6-foot-1 guard finished with 17 points and knocked down three timely 3-point shots to help the Mustangs pull away from Branson.
John Mattingly John Mattingly 6'0" | PG Sunnyslope | 2026 State AZ | 2026 | Sunnyslope (AZ)
Mattingly might be the most under-appreciated prospect in the event. The 5-foot-11 combo guard doesn’t look the part as far as frame and athleticism go but his game is so crafty and polished that he impacts the scoring column in a major way. The sophomore got to the rim and finished with crafty up-and-under layups and knocked down some impressive step-back mid-range jumpers and three-point shots. He finished with 31 points in an overtime loss to Damien.
