Southwick might have turned some heads when he got that Washington offer but the way it is looking now is that they picked up a knockdown shooter that they could put on their board. Southwick is likely the best shooter in the Grind Session, which is saying a lot. If he is not on a opposing teams scouting report they will soon find out the the kid can shoot. His level of play and motor has been on the rise over at Utah Prep. He is a must watch talent that plays against the top players in the country on a daily basis.
Highlights
Easton has been showing that his floor stretching ability is still something that you need to fear. He has a couple of guards that can get to the rim and that allows them to get open is that you need to stay home on him or he will make you pay. He is mixing things up a bit and that is the growth we are seeing is that he can put the ball onthe floor when he is pushed off the three-point-line. Look =for him to continue to guild on that success he has had off that deep ball line.
One of the top growth players in the state as he is shining and doing it all over the floor. He is known for his quickness and ability to get into the paint and be a disrupter but this year in a new system he is able to run free and he is showing that he can put the ball where it needs to be and remain active off the ball. He is shooting the ball with confidence and he has been the connector over at Corner Canyon. HE IS ON THE RISE!
Akbas has been a constant over at JMCHS and even when he is not scoring in double digits he is impacting the game with rebounding and that defensive presence. He has shown improvement in all aspects of his game. We were able to see him play in the summer and he has really turned it up.
Gardnier has been lights out for Unintah and he has even turned into a big time shot maker. His ability to hit the long ball really opens up his game to attack or get that ball off the dribble and score in the mid-range. At the pace he is going he is going to mess around and get a triple-double. Gardnier is a solid small school talent that can play at the next level.
