With so many players in one class, it can lead to players flying under the radar that are just as good as some of the top players in their class. Here are my under-the-radar players for the 2025 class.
Spencer can be a 3-and-D type of player because of how he can defend multiple positions while also being able to knock down open three-pointers. At 6’2″ Spencer can guard both the perimeter and paint because of his great lateral movement and athleticism. He thrives in catch-and-shoot situations behind the arc and can get creative without the basketball as he looks to get open for shots.
Pearson is a quick and shifty guard who seems to be everywhere at once making game-changing plays. His ability to get the rim is his strength as he seems to always find ways to get the rim with or without the basketball. Pearson makes excellent cuts to the rim at the right time and can go with the scoop up and under layup to fool defenders looking to block his shot. His crossover is how he creates space off the dribble using his speed to get by most perimeter defenders.
King is turning into an excellent two-way player with his ability to score the ball while also being able to defend the other team’s best perimeter player. He has a high release point on his shot which can make it difficult to get a contest on. King can also get to the rim because he knows how to draw contact to force the referee to call the foul. On defense, he moves well and will look to pressure his assignment throughout a game giving them very little room to do anything.
Hanson is a high-level scorer who can get any shot he wants no matter the situation he is in. He has tight and crafty handles which allow him to get anywhere on the court. His quickness paired with his crossover is how he creates so much space on his jump shots and drives to the rim. The midrange game is smooth for him and can step out to the three-point line and hit shots from there. Hanson has great timing and instincts on when to intercept passing lanes and when to poke the ball free.
Highlights
Rivera is a smooth scorer who will not look to force any shot he does not like. His ability to find different ways to score the ball is what makes him a tough guard. He finishes at the rim strongly with both hands and can hang in the air longer than normal to give that extra time to go up with the ball. Rivera makes good decisions with the basketball when it comes to playmaking as he can throw some laser passes to teammates who don’t even think they are open until they receive the pass.
