Tilghman basketball has dipped over the last couple of seasons from the powerhouse they used to be. The Blue Tornadoes graduated their two leading scorers from last season and Woodfork is primed to step up into the alpha spot on the Tilghman roster. After shooting 51/42/82 last year, expect most of the offense to run through Miles this season.
Highlights
Gribbins is an elite shooter in catch and shoot scenarios. His next step is to get more comfortable attacking off the dribble. As a freshman, he barely even attempted two point shots. As a Sophomore, Jalen will need to show he can do more or schools will sit on him as a shooter and not worry about his dribbling.
Ryle has been down the last few seasons but Coppola is part of a good young group that will look to get the Raiders back in the mix to win the 9th region. Anthony is a steady hand at the point guard spot who can be trusted to handle the ball and limit turnovers. A table setter at point, Coppola likes to get others involved as a willing passer.
Saint X has actually received a ton of preseason hype this year but they’ll need to develop their bench as the season rolls along. I think Johnson has the intangibles to be a big time contributor for the Tigers and will be able to help on both ends of the court.
King could be one of the bigger X Factors in the 11th region this season. Simon is about the only player for LCA over 6’2 and he has the skills to play inside and out. Naturally more of a wing or face up 4, Simon plays some 5 for LCA but can step out and shoot. The Eagles really need him for his rebounding and he could average close to 10 per game if he gets the playing time.
