CJ Williams
CJ Williams
CJ Williams had an impressive showing at the season opener tournament as he showed his ability to handle the ball pretty well against upperclassmen. We hear the term “freshmen mistakes” a lot when playing basketball as a freshman in high school but CJ played like he had experience playing varsity in the past. As the starting point guard, he handled the opposing press very well controlling the pace of the team’s offense without making a ton of mistakes. Williams got to his spots on offense with many open layups and jump shots using his shifty handle to create opportunities for himself. On the defensive side he has great defensive anticipation getting a couple steals within the passing lanes and diving on the ground for loose balls. His on-ball defense is good as he didn’t allow many opportunities for players to blow past him. With Williams only being a freshman, he has great potential to become something special in his high school tenure.

Andrews made a huge impact playing hard on both ends of the floor. At 6’6 he collected a ton of offensive and defensive rebounds creating multiple second chance opportunities for his teammates. Andrews can draw fouls from opposing players with his great footwork in the post where he mainly gets most of his opportunities to score. When drawing fouls, he can make a good percentage of his shots from the free throw line. He moved the ball pretty well setting his teammates up to score the ball getting some assists in the stat sheet. On defense he has great athletic ability to block shots and control the boards as he boxes out when the ball is being shot. Andrews is the anchor of this high school team on both ends of the floor.
Demorae Pritchett
Demorae Pritchett
Pritchett had a great all around showing during the season opener tournament. His ability to shoot the ball from the three-point line is something opposing teams should key in on as he is a very effective scorer from that range. With his shooting ability he can also create scoring opportunities for himself off the dribble by driving to the rim or pulling up from mid-range. He can shoot the ball off the catch in transition and in offensive sets in the half court at a great percentage. On the defensive end he is a great on ball defender that moves his feet very well when guarding opposing players on the perimeter. Pritchett is a wing prospect with a long wingspan that should have a great season ahead.
Justin Mitchell
Justin Mitchell
Mitchell had a good showing at the season opener tournament as he handled the ball very well under pressure and played controlled. Listed at 5’10, he has a variety of different ways to finish around the rim and can get to his spots where he is comfortable to create open shots for himself. As the starting point guard, he reads the floor very well before he makes a decision on offense. He makes the right passes in transition and in half court settings. On defense he does very well moving his feet against opposing guards on the ball. Mitchell will be a great senior guard to watch out for throughout the high school season.
Jachai Cantave is a scrappy physical guard that brings energy to both ends of the floor. On offense he reads the floor very well with his passing ability and to create open opportunities for his teammates. He has a tight handle for a guard especially when being pressed by opposing defenders full court. Cantave is not afraid to crash the glass on both ends of the floor either. On defense he is a great on ball defender that likes to hustle especially in big moments. As a sophomore, Cantave is only going to get better with time in his high school tenure.
