In this process, I watched several players and their film from past seasons. In the article below, I am going to re-cover the Top four players that I had the chance to learn about. Each of these individuals are competitors that are highly ranked within their own perspective state and each will have a handful of collegiate offers before their high school careers come to an end.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Gene Roebuck (CA) – 6’4 – CG – La Mirada HS
“Roebuck III is a big guard for his class and he is going to stand on that this winter at La Mirada High School. Roebuck has size, skill, a good head on his shoulders and he loves physicality. There aren’t many moments that I would take someone else over Roebuck in one-on-one situations right now, I can’t imagine what he could turn into over the next few seasons if he works on the correct things moving forward. He has the physical gifts and all the intangibles, now he just needs to put it all to work.“
Ryan Hampton Ryan Hampton 6'6" | SG Rockwall-Heath | 2027 State TX (TX) – 6’6 – CG – Heath HS
“Talked about as one of the best Freshman in the country, Ryan Hampton Ryan Hampton 6'6" | SG Rockwall-Heath | 2027 State TX is next up in the state of Texas. Hampton is only in his freshman year of high school ball but he stands at 6’6″ and seems to play with a chip on his shoulder each game. Honestly, Hampton is one of the most aggressive players that I’ve seen this year. He wants to kill everything that stands in his way and he will do anything to make that happen. Hampton has the ability to score from all three levels at a high rate either off the catch or dribble, he can defend smaller or bigger players that matchup across from him, and he has advanced knowledge of the game from a strategic standpoint. When you add all of these things together, you get a Power 5 basketball player and that’s exactly what Hudson will be at the end of the day.”
Kade McCorison (AK) – 6’3 – SF – Ninilchik HS
“Kade was on varsity as an 8th-grader. He has good length, moves well, and can finish at the rim. If anything happens to break down, he is a player that understands to make the most of it. He has versatility and some good knowledge of the game as well. Whenever the coach puts him on the hardwood, he is going to produce in some way for the teammates around him. I’m not sure where he necessarily stacks up compared to the rest of the state but he looks the part. Progression over the next few seasons is a major key for everyone at this age but with the right guidance, McCorison could be a collegiate player one day.“
Dooney Johnson (WI) – 6’1 – SG – Milwaukee Juneau HS
“Johnson is gamer. An individual that has size, knowledge of the game, and a whole lot of skill for the 2027 class. Johnson already stands at 6’4″ with a lot of speed. He is agile in his movements and very good with the ball in his hands. There isn’t an occasion when I have seen Johnson out of his element or pressured in any form. He is always calm, cool, and collected. There are a lot of players that I have seen with high ceilings in the 2027 class throughout the country this year and Johnson may have one of the highest. To be honest, the sky is the limit with this one.”
