Max was dominant in a win over Osseo, turning in a 20+ point scoring performance. He did all of his scoring inside the three-point line, attacking the rim with aggression and getting to his spots in the mid-range. Most of his baskets came on transition or fast break opportunities. He was able to get behind the defense for a long full-court pass or run with his teammates to put himself in a spot for an easy score. He also found no trouble working his way around the defense in the half-court, being able to make one move on his way to the rim. Lorenson mixed in a couple mid-range jumpers as well, being able to knock down shots when fading or with a hand in his face.

Jackson’s masterful offensive abilities were on full display on Sunday as he was getting whatever he wanted. His lightning quick release combined with his size and length is almost impossible to stop, being able to shoot right over defender’s contests. He also handled the ball well, being able to work his way around his defender then either draw a foul or convert on a tough finish. McAndrew led Wayzata to a pair of wins over state contenders in Breck and Orono, as the Trojans look legit once again this season.

Jack was showing off his full scoring arsenal this past weekend, connecting with a ton of tough contested looks. He is so good at getting to his spots, then being able to knock down a look off balance or with a hand in his face. He also attacked the rim a lot more than what I was used to seeing last year, making him a true three-level threat. I liked his use of pump fakes as well, being able to freeze a defender to then shoot over them or blow by them to get inside. Robison and Lakeville North looked reloaded and will be contenders once again this season.
Matt looked great running the point for Lakeville North on Sunday, making plays all over the court. He was exceptional while playing fast or slow, being able to push the ball in transition situations or get to his spots when in a half-court set. He did the majority of his scoring around the rim, attacking larger defenders with no fear or using touch to convert on a high arching floater. He was also setting his teammates up for success with some accurate kick out and long full-court passes. Drake really impressed this past weekend and will be a major piece for a reloaded Panther roster.

JJ has easily been one of my favorite players to watch this fall with his ability to take over a game in a matter of seconds. He has been an efficient scorer in every game I have seen from him and he looks like one of the best natural scorers in the entire state. He has one of the smoothest shots I have seen and he is deadly off the dribble or off the catch. He is not just a scorer, as he looked good bringing the ball up the floor and conducting the Eden Prairie offense as well. I am very excited to see how the Eagles will use all of this guard talent together at once this season.
Ty continues to make a difference at the varsity level this fall and looks ready for a successful freshman season. He was the first option when running with the second unit on Sunday, allowing him to have the ball in his hands a lot more. He looked really good when getting out in space resulting in a lot of 2-on-1 transition situations, where he could then dish it off to a teammate or finish through contact inside. Schlagel is an overall offensive weapon and has looked great this fall.

Brayden turned in a pair of great performances on Sunday, cementing himself as the possible final starter or 6th man for this loaded Wayzata roster. He provides value as he can stretch the floor and knock down looks from the outside. He got hot in the win over Orono, connecting on a couple catch-and-shoot threes on the wing or in the corner. He can also contribute on the defensive end as I saw him jump passing lanes for steals and deflections that led to easy baskets on the other end.
