Anthony put on an incredible shooting performance on Sunday, leading Hopkins to a pair of wins. He was connecting with tough shot after tough shot, leaving the defense with no answers. Smith continues to prove himself as one of the top shooters in the state, as well as one of the best guards overall. He was pulling up from NBA range, sometimes shooting off balance or with a hand in his face. He also looked really good attacking the basket, converting on some difficult finishes over larger defenders. Anthony is sure to put up some huge scoring numbers this season.
Andy was phenomenal in Minnetonka’s tight loss versus Park Center, as they led for most of the first half. The combination of his scoring and facilitating brings so much value to this team as he either scores or assists on the majority of his team’s baskets. The North Dakota State commit was hitting his teammates with dimes in the half court or in transition opportunities, resulting in some easy looks. He was also effective attacking the basket, being able to finish through traffic at full speed. This is Stefonowicz’ team and I believe he will be in the running for Mr. Basketball this year.
Chiang has continued to turn in fantastic performances and has proven himself as one of the top overall prospects in this stacked 2024 class. He has eliminated any major weaknesses from his game, as he can dominate from the inside and be a threat from the perimeter as well. Every time I watch him, he picks up some of the most violent blocks I have ever seen, continuously sending shots into the bleachers. He was a solid shooter last year, but looks way more comfortable and consistent from beyond the arc now. Ring just picked up his first power five offer from Arizona State, but I think should have at least 5-10 at this point.
Behind Stefonowicz, it was Greyson stepping up and making plays for Minnetonka all game in a tough matchup with Park Center. The senior guard was playing with no fear, going right at the best defense in the state. He connected with one triple, but did the rest of his scoring around the rim on his way to a 20+ point performance. He was able to work past the defense without the ball when the defense applied too much pressure, catching a pass from a teammate on the run and finishing at full speed. He also used his excellent shooting touch on floaters to get shots up and over the top shot blocker in the state. Uelmen will be a key player for the Skippers this season, being able to bring a little bit of everything to the table.

Chace was able to play in an expanded role on Sunday with Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 6’7″ | SF Totino-Grace | 2024 State #135 Nation MN and Tyler Wagner Tyler Wagner 6’6″ | SF Totino Grace | 2025 State #366 Nation MN absent. He showed out with the ball in his hands and I was very impressed with his ability to take over a game. He did the bulk of his scoring around the rim, being able to make one or two moves to get around his defender. He was slashing to the rim with aggression, almost putting a defender on a poster on two different occasions. Watley fits in well to this Totino-Grace lineup and will be an x-factor in their big matchups.
The combination of Carson’s height and skill with the ball in his hands is excellent and is a large reason the senior wing is headed to Minnesota State-Mankato next season. In the matchup with Hopkins, he was faced with a lot of on-ball pressure and did a great job remaining calm and not panicking when put in a tough spot. The 6’7” wing can score from anywhere on the floor, showing off his smooth shooting mechanics from the perimeter and using his size to be effective from inside. Schweim is a prospect who has kind of flown under the radar, but should be in for a huge senior season at Mankato East.

Daveion is coming into this winter with a new level of skill and confidence compared to last year. This Hopkins team loves to push the pace in the open floor and he will fit perfectly into that style of game. The 6’4” wing is an elite athlete, as I saw him get loose for a couple dunks when in transition. He also confidently knocked down some shots from beyond the arc off the catch, being a threat to stretch the floor. Hart will likely slide into the starting lineup during his junior season alongside a talented group of Royals.
