Matchem is among the most talented scorers in the class, boasting consistent shooting ability well beyond the arc. A pure shooter, the guard is adept at knocking down three point attempts off the catch or movement. He looks to be equally dangerous while handling the ball, allowing the guard to fully maximize his scoring and facilitating instincts. Very bright future ahead for the 2027 prospect, certainly among the most skilled in the class.
Jegede has shown confidence scoring along the perimeter, all while bringing a high motor on the glass. Capable of stepping into three point attempts quickly, opponents are forced to close out quickly on three point attempts. Off of closeouts, Jegede is quick to attack the paint, assertive with the ball. His rebounding, particularly on the offensive side, was a clear standout skill of his at local events.
Highlights
An especially high IQ guard, Montoya does an exceptional job controlling the pace for the team. Utilizing his excellent ball handling ability to be a threat at all times, either as a driver or shooter. Montoya is always staying aware of teammates, either finding them through tight windows or kickout. As well, an excellent communicator, Montoya does a great job directing traffic.
Highlights
Cook showed value at various showcase events this summer, providing a smooth mid-range game. Effective stepping into shot attempts from a fade or pivot move. Since defenses had to respect the shot, Cook excelled creating space versus his peers on layups or other attempts at the basket. His capabilities as a facilitator will be worth following at The Classical Academy, already valuable scoring with the jumper.
Highlights
Another effective shooter in the mid-range, Beauprez brings an efficient style of play. Effective getting to his spots in a couple dribbles, the guard is composed at all times. Providing consistency on fadeaways and shot attempts off a pivot, Beauprez is comfortable scoring in tight angles.
Smith is another crafty guard with elite shotmaking ability from beyond the arc. With a quick release, the guard can get attempts off quickly, especially from a standstill. Possessing a dependable handle in traffic, Smith keeps his eyes up for passing reads should help approach.
Highlights
Lane shows value spacing the floor behind the arc, certainly a threat for his positional size. Capable of scoring above incoming contests, opponents will have to be aggressive closing out the perimeter. Another area of intrigue will be Lane’s production on the glass, likely capable of holding his own against opposing forwards.
