In this series we are going to look at a group of prospects in the state that are ranked, but not talked about quite enough heading into the season. Here are the 2024 Prospects Not Talked About Enough!

[player_tooltip player_id='1404027' first='Drew' last='King'] (Joliet West)

King is a five man from Joliet West that has legit size, rebounds pretty well in his area, and is a good finisher out of the dunker spot or on lobs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978580' first='Kaden' last='Faber'] (Thornwood)

Faber is a strong four that brings athleticism and some face up game to the table. Can stretch it out to three and is a quality defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978599' first='Tavie' last='Smith'] (Peoria Richwoods)

Love the speed and motor that Smith plays with. The Richwoods senior guard can flat out go with the rock as a scoring threat while also showing improved distributing skills this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2083269' first='Chase' last='Abraham'] (Thornton)

Abraham is the least heralded transfer of the new Thornton quartet, but this kid can go! At TF North Abraham proved he can score from all three levels and has a creative jumper off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='1750597' first='Luke' last='Hopp'] (Metamora)

There are others that get the attention for Metamora, but look for Hopp to garner D2 looks after this season with the defending state champs. Skilled face up four that can shoot and rebounds well in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978593' first='PJ' last='Chambers'] (DePaul Prep)

Chambers is the perfect glue guy for DePaul Prep with his ability to defend on the perimeter, be a connector, and also go get a bucket when it is needed. Expect him to put up number this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978594' first='Corey' last='Lee'] (Oak Lawn)

Lee impressed with [program_tooltip program_id='2075467' first='ET21' last='Buckeyes'] over the summer. Downhill slashing point guard that brings physicality to the position along with the ability to maneuver his body around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978603' first='Bryant' last='Hedrick'] (De La Salle)

Hedrick is one of the major sleepers in the CCL at the small college level. He is a tough minded scoring combo guard that is effective pulling up off the bounce for 15-18 foot jumpers while also being able to take it to the rack. Shows a lot of leadership.

[player_tooltip player_id='2104959' first='Ian' last='Brown'] (New Trier)

Brown is a sniper from the perimeter. The New Trier wing is pretty consistently lights out every time we see him as a spot up shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978596' first='Bryce' last='Newsome'] (Belleville West)

Big bodied five man that has improved his body and conditioning. Rebounds in his area, blocks shots, and has touch in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2104960' first='Owen' last='Thulin'] (Downers Grove North)

Leader at the point for a DGN team looking to return back to state. Tough on ball defender, makes sound decisions, and can hit an open shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285523' first='Phillip' last='Erickson'] (St. Ignatius)

Erickson lit it up in a few outings we saw of him with both Ignatius and the Demons over the summer. Combo guard that is a plus shooter and will make a lot of threes off help defense to Gill this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2049703' first='Bryce' last='Salek'] (Yorkville)

Salek is a wing with solid size and really pops athletically. Has always been more of a second or third option on whatever team he has played with, but there is definitely college potential here as a rock solid all-around player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1541234' first='Talen' last='Pearson'] (Nazareth)

Pearson is a shooting guard that can go off scoring at a high rate. Skilled guard with size and strength. Will be the go to guy for Nazareth this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1970913' first='Isaac' last='Billington'] (Benton)

Billington impressed us over the summer opening our eyes for what he did with the [program_tooltip program_id='2075532' first='Illinois' last='Bears']. The Benton two guard is a sound shooter that is crisp with his movements and can get his shot off quickly.
