Toledo Top 64: Mike’s Guard Standouts

Giving great on ball defensive effort, Majors used his length and foot speed to give opposing ball handlers fits. On the offensive end, Majors was knocking down shots off the bounce and making plays when he got into the paint. Impressive performance for Majors who received an offer from Edison State after the event. I walked away impressed with his feel for the game and scoring ability. At the rim, McLeod had a couple of extension finishes past rim protectors and got low on the drive to sneak past help-side defenders. A capable shooter as well, McLeod knocked down some corner 3-pointers as well. Doesn't need much time or space, Shultz can let it fly and knock it down. His most impressive shot of the day came off a reverse pivot where he faded away from the mid-range and connected. I also thought Shultz looked more physically mature since I last saw him early in his Junior season. Getting stronger and more physically ready to play at the next level is key for Shultz and he seems to be making progress in that area of the game. Came out and played with confidence when the ball was in his hands by making shots from the perimeter and moving the ball quickly within the offense. His ability to turn on the jets and push the tempo got his team some easy buckets. Jefferson also showed touch at the basket with floaters and layups that he created with his speed.
