J’Siah Jefferson
About J’Siah
Expert Analysis

One of the best point guards in the city of Toledo, Jefferson has been another player we’ve seen compete at the Toledo Top 64 for a few years now. A point guard who wants to get downhill and score at the rim, Jefferson is quick with the ball in his hands. Toledo Start has had a fast start to their season with wins over Findlay, Sylvania Northview and conference rival Toledo Scott under new head coach Bj Raymond. Jefferson also has a little brother, J’Kiah, who I am excited to watch as well. This duo could push Start near the top of the Toledo City League.

Jefferson is a player who made an impact last season at this event and once again performed well. Central State offered Jefferson immediately following the event, clearly impressed with how he played. I thought Jefferson played with a lot of confidence on both ends of the court. Despite his size, Jefferson also grabbed a handful of rebounds simply because he played harder than other guys on the court. I expect Jefferson to be one of the most impactful two way point guards in the Toledo City League this winter.

One thing about Toledo Start guards is they are going to be tough and fast, Jefferson fits both of those categories as this undersized lead guard was a blur in transition. His ability to turn on the jets and push the tempo got his team some easy buckets. Jefferson also showed touch at the basket with floaters and layups that he created with his speed. As a passer, Jefferson did a good job getting the ball to the post, allowing his taller players to score at the rim.
