Today we will be headlining the senior class. Here are six under the radar senior prospects to keep eyes on.
Tyson Wilson, A 6-2 senior guard is the true definition of a playmaker when he has the ball in his hands. He shows explosiveness off the bounce where he can finish around the rim on both sides as well as a consistent jump shot from the mid-range. On the defensive end, Wilson is very shifty and versatile where he can guard multiple positions as well as use his athleticism to block shots at the rim. He is also very good at reading the passing lanes where he can get tips and deflections with his length. Look for Wilson to have a solid senior season where he has the intangibles to play at the next level.
Garrett Watterson, A 6-7 senior power forward who can score on all three levels on the offensive end as he is electric to watch in the front court. His versatility allows him to play a key role on the offensive end as well whether it’s out on the block or out on the wings. On the defensive end, Watterson plays with great length and is an above-average rebounder. His off-the-ball defense has continued to improve as he is rising quickly as one of the top-tier prospects to watch in the North Florida area this season.
Highlights
Nate Boakye, A 6-2 senior guard plays and understands his role for both his high school and AAU team. Boakye is a superb athlete who shows a quick first step at getting to the basket on the offensive end. His defensive game is strong as well as he is scrappy on the ball and adapts to being active in the passing lanes. Boakye also plays with great energy on the offensive end as he can finish above the rim as well as shoot efficiently from beyond the arc.
Highlights
Devaughn Stallworth, A 6-5 senior guard does a bit of everything on the offensive end whether it’s initiating the offense, scoring across all three levels or displaying his skills off the ball. Stallworth plays with great length and showcases his athleticism on the defensive end of the floor whether it’s blocking shots at the rim or contesting shots out on the perimeter. Stallworth looks to continue to improve his game as he received his first official offer from Allegheny College last month.
Highlights
Jordyn Buchanan, A 6-6 senior wing has all the tools to play at the next level as he brings strength, length and athleticism to the floor. He shows elusive quickness on the boards at both ends of the floor using his ability to finish put-backs or as a lob threat. Buchanan has also gained consistency and confidence shooting the basketball from the perimeter as well this summer. On the defensive end, Buchanan is versatile and can guard multiple positions with his footwork and his stock will continue to rise heading into the season. Buchanan holds offers from North Florida (D1), Edward Waters and Flagler so far in the early stages of his recruitment process.
Sam Ritchie, A 6-2 senior guard has been on my radar since the beginning of his junior season where he continues to shoot the lights out from beyond the arc. Ritchie has a strong IQ on whether to shoot versus pass the basketball as he has strong mechanics. On the defensive end, Ritchie has continued to improve his rebounding abilities and plays with good strength off the ball. He will look to continue to improve his ability to guard on the ball as his senior season is approaching. Look for Ritchie to play more physical and use his strength to an advantage this season as well.
