Prep Hoops Florida is taking a look at the preseason all-state teams for the upcoming season. We have a lot of new faces in new places this season and are excited to tip-off next month. Here are some of the top players to watch for in Class 6A this season:
Drake Sandi Drake Sandi 6’2″ | PG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2026 State FL , A 6-1 sophomore guard with strong pass-first instincts from the guard position as he is very creative when he has the basketball in his hands. Sandi has a strong IQ when it comes to his decision-making on whether to shoot versus pass the ball. On the defensive end, Sandi is a natural two-guard defender who can guard on and off the ball at a high level. He is also very active in the passing lanes where he can turn defense into offense, as he averaged over four steals per game as a freshman last season. On the offensive end, Sandi has a strong knack for finishing at the rim against multiple defenders.
Sam Ritchie Sam Ritchie 6’2″ | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL , A 6-1 senior point guard has a strong knack for knocking down shots from the perimeter off the catch as well as off the bounce. Ritchie is a skilled offensive player who can score whether he’s contested or given space as he is a perennial threat to score in a variety of ways. On the defensive end, Ritchie has a solid frame and rebounds well from the guard position. He is very versatile where he can play multiple positions as well as display a ton of footwork where he can cover a lot of ground.
Zion Mitchell Zion Mitchell 6’1″ | CG Edgewater | 2024 State FL , A 6-1 senior guard can showcase a lot of talents when it comes to running the point guard position. Mitchell is quick and athletic when moving with the basketball in his hands where he doesn’t force many mistakes on the offensive end. Mitchell also excels well in the pick-and-roll offense where he can finish at the rim as well as knock down shots from beyond the arc with space. Mitchell holds offers from High Point, Presbyterian, Stetson and several others.

Kaiden Francis Kaiden Francis 6’1″ | PG South Plantation | 2024 State FL , A 6-1 senior point guard is as impressive of a guard as it comes where he can score off the dribble as well as off the catch. He is also an underrated rebounder on both ends of the floor as he showcases a ton of athleticism for the guard position. Francis has great size and showcases his strength to his advantage on the offensive end where he is unafraid to finish at the rim through traffic. On the defensive end, Francis is at his best when guarding on the ball and applies great ball pressure on the perimeter.
Josh Harris Josh Harris 6’8″ | SF Pembroke Pines Charter | 2024 State FL , A 6-8 senior wing that shows no fear when it comes to scoring from the inside or outside on the offensive end. Harris has continued to improve his game when it comes to scoring from beyond the arc whether he has space or contested. On the defensive end, Harris has great footwork when it comes to guarding the perimeter or in the paint as he uses a ton of length. He is a sensational rebounder on both ends of the floor where he can score off put-backs or quickly get the ball in transition. Harris holds offers from Air Force, Charleston, North Florida, UNC-Wilmington and several others.

Brandon Brazell Brandon Brazell 6’5″ | SG Martin County | 2026 State FL , A 6-5 sophomore wing who is extremely long and bouncy on the offensive end of the floor. Brazell is a solid rebounder for his size and displays a nice touch from the mid-range. Last season as a freshman, Brazell was finishing above the rim whether it came off put-backs or finishing as a lob threat around the rim. On the defensive end, he does a great job at challenging shots whether they’re at the rim or closing out on the perimeter. Look for Brazell to have a much improved sophomore season and college coaches have already checked in on him. Brazell currently holds an offer from Bethune-Cookman.
Chris Cornish Chris Cornish 6’4″ | SF Charlotte | 2024 State FL , A 6-4 senior wing is at his best when he is finishing on the attack as he is solid around the rim. He is an active rebounder on both ends of the floor where he is strong when he has the basketball in his hands. Cornish has continued to evolve his game around the rim where he is unafraid to draw contact and get to the free throw line. In order for his game to get to the next level, he will have to develop a more consistent shot from beyond the arc. Cornish currently holds an offer from Manhattan College.
Daniel Delgardo Daniel Delgardo 5’10” | PG Leto | 2024 State FL III, A 6-1 senior combo guard plays with an aggressive edge on the offensive end, where he can often switch hands and finish on both sides of the rim at a high level. Delgardo isn’t afraid to draw contact where he can get to the free throw line on numerous occasions. On the defensive end, Delgardo has smooth footwork where he can cover a lot of ground as well as guard multiple positions. He has very active hands and does a great job at jumping the passing lanes getting tips and deflections. He is very consistent when it comes to finishing from the mid-range on the offensive end as well.
Isaiah Newson Isaiah Newson 6’0″ | PG North Fort Myers | 2026 FL , A 5-10 sophomore combo guard who transferred from Cape Coral to North Fort Myers during the summer. Newson is a very crafty scorer who can finish at the rim scoring off the bounce as well as off the catch. He is very quick to push the basketball in transition whether it’s off a missed shot or off a turnover. He also has the ability where he can shoot it from beyond the arc off the bounce or off the catch. Newson averaged 23.6 points, 6 rebounds and three assists last season as a freshman. Newson will be an intriguing prospect to watch for the next three years.
