Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 13 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***
This 5’9″ point guard from Homestead High School displayed his skills as a floor general throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Rhinehart has a tight handle that allows him to navigate through traffic, is a very good passer with great court vision, and is able to create his own scoring opportunities as well. He really impressed with his passing ability and had several assists including a great left-handed drift pass along the baseline.

Adayveon Young
A thin, left-handed guard from Kokomo High School, Young proved that he can be effective offensively playing on or off of the ball. When handling it he had a shifty drive into the paint where he played off of two feet, shot faked, and stepped through to finish an And-1. Then, he knocked in a stepback three-point shot in transition as well. Young’s ability to handle the ball helps him to create space to get his shot off. On the defensive end, his length causes disruption in the passing lanes.
Royster is an aggressive player offensively that is always in attack mode with the ball in his hands. He is very good in transition where his speed and athleticism standout and is crafty enough to create his own driving lanes in the half court. The 6’0″ guard from Bishop Noll Institute, Royester proved his two-way ability on the perimeter at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Look for a potentially breakout senior season for this prospect up in the Region.

Kolby Henderlong
Kolby Henderlong
Henderlong impressed with his size and length on the perimeter which he combined with good catch-and-shoot ability. He has good footwork when moving into his shot on the perimeter, works well off of screening action, and has a quick release. The 6’3″ wing from Crown Point High School also crashed the offensive glass and had a tough putback finish. Look for his shooting ability to translate into the high school season for the Bulldogs.
The physical tools for this prospect stand out immediately when you see him on the floor. Overton is a 6’4″-6’5″ wing from Evansville Reitz High School that came onto the scene strong this summer with D1 Indiana and was impressive once again at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. He showed well as a slasher and driver at the event with several great cuts that resulted in baskets in the paint. Overton was also very active on the offensive glass where he finished some putbacks.

Big men are always in style and this 6’7″ Greenwood Christian product has good length and showed some real agility for his size. The overall skills are still coming along, but the total package is certainly intriguing. He runs the floor well, can catch it and finish on the roll, and will protect the rim a bit on the defensive end of the floor. Smith will be an under-the-radar name to follow this winter as he continues to develop.
