The field was loaded and we got to see several high-level players team up that normally wouldn’t which always makes for entertaining basketball. The list of stock risers from Sunday’s camp is long but these are a few 2024s that helped themselves this weekend.
Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 5’11” | PG Hiram | 2024 State GA has been one of the hottest names in the state lately after finishing the summer on a high note and torching the RYZE Fall League. Williams was undoubtedly one of the top guards in attendance and he proved it throughout the afternoon. While he’s a bit undersized, Williams can score with the best of them. He gets great elevation on his pull-up jumper and doesn’t need a ton of separation to hit shots. The handle is tight, IQ through the roof as well. Williams tells me he’s hearing from Anderson, UVA-Wise, Georgia College, and Young Harris. Currently holds offers from Berry, Piedmont, and Dean.
Bryce Kennebrew
Bryce Kennebrew
We became quite familiar with Bryce Kennebrew this summer when he played with Play With Heart out of Atlanta but Sunday’s up-close look made me an even bigger fan. Kennebrew is a mature point guard, able to make the appropriate reads and organize an offense. He shoots the three-ball really well too and made a bunch of them on Sunday. Kennebrew’s combination of size, strength, and physicality will certainly help him fight for early minutes wherever he lands next year.
Michael Pace Michael Pace 6’4″ | CG Norcross | 2024 State GA had a tremendous showing at Sunday’s camp and he looks primed for a breakout year at Norcross, one of Georgia’s blue-blood programs. Pace can be effective both on and off the ball but he’s at his best in an up-tempo game. He’s got great size and speed at the guard spot which really helps him in transition. We saw him trying to push the pace a lot on Sunday which led to a number of creative finishes at the rim. We also saw him hit the spot-up three consistently. Detroit Mercy was the first school to offer Pace back in July.
While Sam Johnson was once considered a spot-up specialist, we’ve seen him blossom into a confident lead guard over the past 6 months. Johnson’s skillset has taken a major leap and he’s now handling the rock like a true point guard. On Sunday, we saw even more of Johnson’s ability to create looks for himself and others off the dribble. All that being said, Johnson is still one of the most deadly snipers in Georgia’s 2024 class. He exploded for 10+ threes in his last game of the day for one of the highest point totals we saw of any player. Keep an eye out for Rockmart this year as Johnson could put up some big numbers.
Seitan Oke
Seitan Oke
Seitan Oke is rising in stock at the right time, a sleeper prospect his first few years but now seeing interest from multiple D2 programs. While many of the bigs in attendance measured in at 6’8+, Oke’s talent and motor rose above the majority and he proved to be one of the most dominant forwards at the camp. He’s a tenacious rebounder and capable rim protector that runs the floor really hard. His mid-range jumper has grown more and more consistent as well. With Clark out the door for Wheeler, Oke takes over the front court and will play a major role for Campbell this season.
