Continue ReadingThis year’s Pangos camp was hosted by West Chester University and featured over 200 prospects. They came from as far as California and Florida, with large contingents from Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. Of course, plenty of student-athletes from PA and NJ showed up and showed out too. With so many of them, it made sense to just do some brief notes on a handful of the prospects I saw.
Theo Edema 7’0 C 2027 Cushing Academy (MA)
Watching Edema run up and down the floor was incredible. He threw down several dunks and sent a few of the opposing team’s shots into the sidelines.
Zion Green Zion Green 6'8" | PF Imhotep Charter | 2027 State PA 6’8 W/F 2027 Imhotep
The abundance of bigger and more physically developed players afforded Green the opportunity to play on the perimeter. He made threes off-the-catch and scored on straight-line drives to the cup.
Milak Myatt Milak Myatt 6'3" | SG Math, Civics, and Sciences | 2026 State PA 6’3 G 2026 MCS
The enormous bigs in the paint didn’t deter Myatt from attacking the basket. He found ways to finish inside and knocked down jumpers from deep.
Al’Tariq Reevey Al’Tariq Reevey 6'8" | C Life Center | 2026 State NJ 6’9 F/C 2026 Life Center (NJ)
Reeves was intriguing because he understands who he is and he played within himself. He communicated on defense as the low man in PNR and scored with simple post moves.
Mekhi Robertson Mekhi Robertson 6'4" | CG Life Center Academy | 2027 State NJ 6’3 G 2027 Life Center (NJ)
An ultra athletic guard, Robertson soared through the air for alley oops and transition dunks. He also made spot-up threes with his smooth release.
PJ Singleton 6’5 G 2026 Canarsie (NY)
Singleton is a big guard who showed he can run point. Combined with his natural strength, he has the craft and flare to make highlight reel passes.
Cameron Smith Cameron Smith 6'7" | PF Academy Of New Church | 2026 State PA 6’6 F/C 2026 ANC
For an undersized post player, Smith played his game effectively. He grabbed rebounds and scored inside against bigs who were 6’10-7’1 using his low center-of-gravity.
Jermel Thomas Jermel Thomas 6'0" | PG Cardinal Hayes | 2026 State NY 6’2 G 2026 Cardinal Hayes (NY)
“Mel Mel” won Top 30 game co-MVP because of his playmaking. In PNR and without ball-screens, he masterfully created advantages for others.
