There were college coaches scattered all over the gym from D1 to NWAC and everything in-between. Here is a recap of what went down this weekend.
Next Level Play
This kid could make a mixtape from this weekend that most would wish they could have for an entire season. Ace is playing with a lot of confidence and he is getting to spots with fluidity. The way that he can step into three-pointers with a pace is next level and him still being on the board is crazy he is going ot be an excellent next level player, teams need to offer and lock him up.
Highlights
The future #1 player in the Class of 2024 in Utah was living up to the hype as he was in his bag and he is one of the most efficient players to set foot in utah and he is playing with so much control. It is crazy to see what he can do and how ahead of schedule Wasatch Academy looks right now.
This kid is taking his game to the next level and he is really attacking the rim with one thing on his mind and that is to bend the rim. Would not be surprised if Dean continues on this pace and has some monster games this winter.
Teams That Popped
When it comes to teams looking a certain way there were a few that were surprises and some that we will put together and we can just predict what will happen.
Wasatch Academy
The balance on the team between bigs right now is something that will come in handy moving forward in the NIBC. they can hit you with size, they can hit you with speed and they can hit you with some outside shooting. Then you move over to their guards that are killing it from deep as they have more outside weapons this season. Look for them to really elevate in the NIBC.
Bingham
The two guard combo between Luke West Luke West 6'2" | SG Bingham | 2026 State UT and Stockton Tueller Stockton Tueller 6'2" | CG Bingham | 2024 State UT has been high level and the motor they play with and that their team plays with is impressive. Tyson Shewell Tyson Shewell 6'4" | SF Bingham | 2024 State UT is a senior that has stepped in and stepped up snatching every board and every loose ball. They have a combo of players that will do all the little things, so this team is tougher than they have been given credit, watch out.
Alta
Although they did not field a team in the GWC the play of Carter Doleac Carter Doleac 6'8" | PF Alta | 2024 State UT , Ace Reiser Ace Reiser 6'0" | PG Alta | 2024 State UT , Dash Reiser Dash Reiser 5'9" | CG Alta | 2026 State UT and Zack Peapke really make you think if there is anyone that can de-thrown them this year. Not to mention Jaxon Johnson Jaxon Johnson 6'8" | SF Alta | 2024 State #106 Nation UT wasn’t even in the state as he was on a visit at USC. This team is going to be good and the surge of Carter Doleac Carter Doleac 6'8" | PF Alta | 2024 State UT is something college teams might want to pay attention to.
Quick Hitters
Hunter Jackson Hunter Jackson 6'3" | PG Woods Cross | 2025 State UT – This kid does a very good job at creating. Could increase those assist this year.
Kyle Lemke Kyle Lemke 6'9" | C Dixie | 2024 State UT – he is the real deal! He might end up at a JUCO but he is a D1 big.
Bryton Valdes Bryton Valdes 5'10" | PG Corner Canyon | 2025 State UT – He might be what Corner Canyon was truly missing as a true PG, that plays unselfish.
Mana Winitana Mana Winitana 6'3" | PG American Heritage | 2027 State UT – This youngster is going to be tough. Plays at a very small school but has big game potential.
