We stick in the Triad area for the 2A Foothills conference, with teams like North Surry, Wilkes Central, and Surry Central all represented here. Check out our picks for the all conference team below.
Brady Scott
Brady Scott
Last Season Stats – 9.3 PPG, 3,1 RPG, 1.0 SPG
Brady Scott is in line to be the lead guard this year at Wilkes Central and should be ready to make a leap this winter. He’s a solid scorer that can get it done at multiple spots on the floor, including being solid from beyond the arc. His ability to poke the ball free and be aggressive allows him to be a plus contributor on defense. Wilkes Central should have an improved year with him and his teammate Tyson Owens leading them.
Kam McKnight
Kam McKnight
Last Season Stats – 7.6 PPG, 3.0 APG, 42% 3FG
McKnight is a knockdown shooter and scorer that is due to jump into a big role for North Surry this season with the loss of their two leading scorers. He’s very comfortable with the ball as a leader and floor general who is able to facilitate or get his own shot when he wants. Really good off the ball spotting up and spacing for jumpshots as well. He should see a double digit scoring jump and be in line for a big junior year.
Last Season Stats – 12.6 PPG, 2.6 RPG
Wilmoth is a name to know from Surry Central as a two way guard who is an on ball pest as well as a sharpshooter. He’s got parking lot range when spotting up and is a threat to shoot the ball from anywhere inside the volleyball lines. Defensively he’s got great instincts and quick hands that allow him to either thief passing lanes or be disruptive while guarding the ball. Should continue to shine this winter.
Tripp McMillen
Tripp McMillen
Last Season Stats – 15.3 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.6 SPG
McMillen is flying under the radar as a college-level prospect coaches need to be aware of, and should be after this upcoming year. He’s a high impact two way player that makes waves as a spot up threat on offense and a long presence in gaps/passing lanes on defense. Really doesn’t have many weaknesses in his game but will continue to get better and excel at SC over the course of this season.
Tyson Owens
Tyson Owens
Last Season Stats – 11.4 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 1.1 BPG
Owens is a sturdy, smooth forward with great size that should be in line for an outstanding senior campaign. He’s got prototypical interior size at 6’8 and rebounds the rock very well for his group. He should be a walking double double threat every night, as he can also score well on the interior. Look for local coaches to get involved with him in his unsigned senior season.
