McKnight is an all-around guard to get to know in the North Surry High backcourt this season. He has some help this season in the form of Fisher Leftwich Fisher Leftwich 6'2" | CG North Surry | 2026 NC and Cade Atkins Cade Atkins 6'1" | PG North Surry | 2026 State NC as the Greyhounds are out to a 5-0 start. He’s producing 13.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 44 percent from the field and 30 percent from deep with 10 made 3-pointers under his belt already. He’s a prospect for DIII programs in the region to get to know given his ability in the backcourt as an all-around guard.

Kam McKnight was North Surry’s go-to-guy in 2023-2024. A 6’1” combo guard who shoots 40% from three, McKnight is one of the most underrated prospects in the class of 2025. McKnight is a crafty scorer who shoots the ball well off the dribble and off the ball. He’s got a quick first step that allows him to attack the basket when he’s pressured around the perimeter. McKnight is currently ranked #194, but a standout senior season with North Surry paired with a deeper run in the state playoffs could elevate his stock tremendously.

Mcknight has been torching the nets for North Surry as the lead man this season, knocking down 84 threes so far on the season. With them going in at a 40% clip, he continues to show why he’s a top shooter both in the 2A class and the Triad area. He’s very comfortable shooting it on the catch or the move, especially when he gets a little room to get his shot off.
