Continue ReadingAsp will step into a much larger role with Palmer, gaining ample opportunities as an multi-purpose offensive weapon. Gaining consistency throwing down emphatic dunks in transition, the forward has shown upside as an above the rim playmaker on both ends. Effective swatting away shot attempts above the rim, Asp will retain notable defensive value, especially while rotating for help side blocks. The senior’s continued growth in volume and efficiency shooting the ball cannot go overlooked, constantly working to develop his perimeter game. Although an excellent complementary option, Asp’s progression as an on-ball playmaker will be one area worth monitoring through this upcoming season.
Davis is a strong wing who shows value stepping into shot attempts within the mid-range and paint. Gaining value playmaking with the ball, they are starting to more consistently maximize their strength on drives. Effective bumping away his opponent for a pull-up jumper, Davis looks to be a dynamic scoring threat yet again this season. Defensively, they hold up versus both forwards, capable of staying strong if necessary. The Davis brothers will be highly impactful yet again for Pueblo Central, following a successful 19-7 regular season. Certainly an effective scorer, Davis’ growth as a facilitator will be worth following, given his high usage.
Goodall is a strong wing worth keeping tabs on this season, providing plenty of offense for Florence. The guard will be a valuable weapon on both ends, possessing notable athleticism to get up to block shots or throw down two-handed dunks. His growth in efficiency behind the arc and on movement shot attempts will be worth tracking, already effective attacking downhill if necessary. Defensively, Goodall can guard plenty of opposing matchups within Florence’s league, although at the next level he should be capable versus 2s and 3s.
Smith is another highly impactful defender around the rim and versus perimeter shotmakers. Given his wide reach, the senior forward is a matchup nightmare defensively. With his mobility and reach, Smith is an above average rebounder on either end, capable of creating second chance opportunities multiple times per game. Although a defensive swiss army knife, Smith’s offensive progression is arguably the most intriguing aspect of his final season. Notably his growth on spot-up attempts and what volume he is attacking downhill following a closeout.
Pulliam brings plenty of intrigue heading into his final season with Doherty, possessing a high IQ and strong frame. With an excellent pivot game and corresponding size, the power forward is a smooth scorer down low. Effective scoring with either hand through contact or contests, Pulliam is among the most skilled frontcourt prospects in the class. Another area of value has been the forward’s floor spacing, effective on spot-up attempts from the corners and wings. Defensively, they are a proactive interior defender, getting into help side positions very quickly. Doherty was a dependable program last season, going 16-9 and asserting themselves as one of the most competitive teams in Colorado Springs. Pulliam played a large role in their success, although he has continued to gain notable athleticism over the past 6 months.
