The mass exodus from Western high school was quick and painful for the Warrior basketball program but Edmonds is the top prize of the transfer season. Trinity adding JuJu to the mix makes them a state title contender and the likely favorite to win the always loaded 7th region.
Isaiah moves from the 8th region to the 5th and will provide coach Deron Breeze with his most highly recruited player since Zion Harmon spent a year roaming the halls at Adair. The big wing has shown he can guard multiple positions and score all over the floor. He’s likely the tallest player on the roster by 4-5 inches so he’ll get some mismatches to exploit while playing the 5 spot at times.
Along with his brother Blake, Cayden is waiting eligibility at Mason County but if he gets eligible the Royals are the likely favorites in the 10th. The younger Reed is more of a table setter PG who doesn’t force his offense and would rather get an assist than take a bad shot for himself.
Another transfer from Western to Trinity, Lawson will push for a starting role with the Rocks and will help provide them with more offensive firepower and shooting. JoJo is a tough lead guard who could thrive under Coach Szabo and become more of a lockdown defender than what he’s shown at Western.
Ballard has to have more transfers than any school in the state this season and Fairman could be their most impactful because he’ll play with the ball in his hands a lot. A scoring point guard, Javeon is at his third school in three years but could settle in at Ballard and make them a force to be reckoned with the next two years.
