For this article, we looked at the 2024 South Dakota players who are coming to the Expo on Sunday. We have 15 ballers on our watchlist. Below we are commenting about them as players and why we want to watch them at the Expo.
WHY? I believe that Atwood is ready for a blockbuster senior season. This event will give me a glimpse of what to expect this winter. Two years ago he stood out to me with his 3-point shooting. This past season, Atwood evolved his game and became a shot blocker and a consistent dunker. Andrew led the Watchdogs in WHAMs this past season. I am excited to see Atwood finish above the rim on Sunday. I also want to see his perimeter shot again as I did not get a chance to watch him this summer.
WHY? I have never seen him play, so I am looking forward to that. I have heard reports that Irey is a super talented shooter. He basically does not miss open shots. I am excited to see this Lynx shoot the rock! Expect many triples from Irey.
WHY? I watched him last winter with the Bulldogs and I was very impressed with his rebounding and defense. I want to see Jensen matchup with some of the top North Dakota players and see if he can shut them down. This summer, I was impressed with Jensen’s athleticism, he covers a ton of ground and he can jump out of the gym. Jensen is a do-it-all player and I want to see him finish above the rim at the Expo. Who knows, he might even put someone on a Poster!
WHY? He was one of the top guards last year at the 250 Expo and I expect that to be the case again this year. Goff had a quality offseason and he looked good multiple times on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Hayden can score from every level. He is smooth from deep, has a nice pull-up game, and he is a versatile/crafty finisher. His handles are tight & sharp and he is a gifted passer. Goff is going to be a DUDE next Sunday!
WHY? I watched him a handful of times this offseason and Erickson looked tough every time. I like his size, athleticism, and skill set. Erickson will drain a 3 on one possession and dunk in your face on the next. He is a large wing that can hurt you from every layer. Jack can make a pretty finesse play or out-tough you inside the paint. He has really improved this past year and that should keep happening. I am excited to see Erickson go against some of the top ND guys and see what he can do.
Jaxson Wildung
Jaxson Wildung
WHY? He had a nice club season with James Valley Thunder and Jaxson looked formidable at the MSUM Camp late in the summer. I like his aggressiveness, he always seems to be in “attack mode”. Will he do the same thing at the Expo when playing with new players? Wildung can score through contact around the hoop but also stretch the floor with triples. Jaxson is a playmaker off the bounce. I am looking forward to seeing Wildung ball out again.
WHY? He will likely be one of the most skilled PG’s at the event. Jet is known as a selfless leader, a creator, distributor, and a smart player. He can also score the rock in a variety of ways. I am interested to see how his 3-point shot looks. I want to see if Janvrin looks for his own shot or he is looking to set up others. I am expecting him to look good, that is for sure! Jet is a baller with a great feel for the game.

WHY? He is jack of all trades, a gifted athlete, hard worker, and a winner. I am interested in seeing his shot from three-point land and how he defends against some of the top ND ballers. Fast is a tough and gritty defender, it will be fun to see him lock horns with talented scorers.
WHY? He impressed me last winter and this summer on multiple occasions. Tvedt is a two-way player that will standout on both ends. I like the looks of his jump shot, expect him to knock down a high amount of triples next Sunday. Tvedt is also a creative slasher that can score in the paint but also drop dimes. Tvedt is talented for sure, will he stick out with killer-instinct and take over a game?
WHY? He will be one of the best athletes at the event. Expect Anderson to throw down a few impressive dunks. He will be a mismatch problem for most defenders because he can produce from all over the court and his height allows him to score over smaller defenders. Bigger forwards will struggle to keep him in front. Anderson is a hustler, a productive rebounder, defender, and he will do the little things. Matt oozes potential and intrigue. Besides being talented and athletic, Anderson plays with passion, and he plays with great body language. There will be plenty of eyes on Anderson from the college coaches at the Expo.

WHY? He made an excellent impression on me this spring/summer. Max plays with a high hoops IQ, has top-notch basketball instincts, and I like the way that he carries himself on the court. Engebretson is a major shooting threat from long range, will stick the mid-range J, and he scores at the rim with a diverse finishing package. Max has polished skills and he makes others around him better. Max will be a top talent at the event, will he perform well enough to be named First-Team All-Expo?
WHY? I have not watched him in person but I have heard nothing but positive reports on Lemar. It sounds like Parker is primed for a big season and I plan on watching him multiple times next Sunday to see what he has. I am interested in his skill level, shooting mechanics, and athleticism.
WHY? I have watched Almas in the past and he is a super athlete. I did not get a chance to see Sam play this summer, so I am eager to see him hoop at the Expo. Look for Sam to be a playmaker on both ends of the floor and for him to put down some impressive SLAMs. I want to see where he gets his points from, how his shooting stroke looks, and how polished his skills have become. I am also interested to see how much bigger/taller Almas is compared to the last time I watched him. You should expect Sam to be one of the most dynamic players at the Expo.

WHY? He will be one of the top scorers at the Expo. Tyson can put up points in a hurry and he does it from every level. His mid-range jumper is a thing of beauty and he is a sniper from the three-point arc. Tyson has a complex finishing package and he can put the ball in the hole about any way that you can imagine. Is Stevenson an alpha on the court next Sunday and will he take over? The odds are certainly in his favor!
WHY? I thought he looked awesome at the MSUM Camp this summer. Will be standout again at the Expo? Yohana will give opponents problems with his length and mobility. This summer, Ajwanga took a huge step forward and he will bring a serious interior presence to the Expo. He will be a problem on defense and he is a legit scoring threat. Wait until you watch Yohana play, it is easy to see that his potential is through the roof!
