One of the top prospects in the state proved himself against EPJ. Anderson had a nice stat line, producing a double-double with 24 points (10-19 FG), 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks in 27 minutes of play. He’s a long wing with bounce and a well-rounded and skilled offensive game. Matt defends with quick lateral feet, locking down his matchup on the drive. Plays good positioning and defends without fouling. A wing with a skilled handle to be able to play the point at the high school level as well. Showed he can board and go coast to coast slicing through the D to finish through traffic at the hoop. Matt maintained his stock from this opening game.

WHY? He will be one of the best athletes at the event. Expect Anderson to throw down a few impressive dunks. He will be a mismatch problem for most defenders because he can produce from all over the court and his height allows him to score over smaller defenders. Bigger forwards will struggle to keep him in front. Anderson is a hustler, a productive rebounder, defender, and he will do the little things. Matt oozes potential and intrigue. Besides being talented and athletic, Anderson plays with passion, and he plays with great body language. There will be plenty of eyes on Anderson from the college coaches at the Expo.

He tweaked his ankle on Friday morning. Anderson fought through it and kept playing. Matt had a good overall tournament and he showed his timely playmaking with a crucial bucket in a close game. He hit smooth three pointers in the catch-and-shoot game. Anderson’s perimeter shooting has improved over the spring/summer. He is always competing at a high level and Matt is consistently the first one to dive on the floor for a loose ball. Anderson played defense with an unrelenting tenacity and it was easy to see that he is fearless. Matt played with high NRG, great effort, and he was a team player.
