Here are some of the standout guards from the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo that took place on Saturday, September 23 at the Seminole Sports Academy in Longwood.
Isaiah Gillard, A 6-3 sophomore guard continues to strive and bring huge upside every time he steps out onto the floor. Gillard plays with a high IQ and is an excellent decision-maker when he has the basketball in his hands. I was impressed with his ability to collapse defenses and make crisp kick-out passes to the open shooters. On the defensive end, he brought a ton of versatility where he was often at times guarding multiple positions and was very active in the passing lanes. Excited for Gillard to see where he stands as far as improvements and college interest as the season nears.

Darnell Goodman, A 5-11 sophomore guard with elusive quickness and has shown the ability he can score off the bounce as well as off the catch at a high level. Goodman did a good job creating for his teammates with his ability to score through traffic as well as making the extra pass to open shooters. His offensive rebounding skills were off the charts as he is an above-average rebounder for his size using his athleticism to battle on the boards where he can finish put-backs as well.
Jack Kaley, A 6-3 junior guard continues to impress me with his passing skills as well as his ability to pull up from the mid-range and score with confidence. Kaley’s ability to handle the basketball in transition has also taken huge strides this fall as he continues to be an elite decision maker. Kaley can also score effectively from beyond the arc as he shot over 40 percent in three games for Team 5 on Saturday leading the way to a pair of wins.
Highlights
Caleb Sanders, A 6-5 junior guard showed a ton of length and toughness on both ends of the floor where he was forcing his opposition into taking tough shots. On the defensive side, his alertness and activity were on full display as he was guarding out on the perimeter and also blocking shots on the interior. His effectiveness on the offensive side was also fun to watch as he continues to play with more confidence. College coaches should start getting on Sanders’ radar real soon as he has slowly become one of the top two-way players to watch in the Tampa Bay area.
Devaughn Stallworth, A 6-5 senior guard continues to flourish onto the scene as a premier two-way player. Stallworth has a knack where he can score on all three levels as well as play multiple positions. On the defensive end, he showed a ton of quickness with his ability to guard the perimeter where his length forced the opposition into taking tough shots.
Highlights
Donny Yeager, A 5-11 senior guard bursted onto the scene with his ability to shoot the basketball from beyond the arc at a high level. Yeager also made good decisions with the basketball showing off his great IQ getting assists, as well as showing a ton of activity on the defensive side. Yeager continues to rise as one of the top two-way prospects I saw this weekend at the Prep Hoops Top 250.
