Christopher Horton Christopher Horton 6’0″ | PG Ridge View | 2027 State SC was one impressive name for Team 1 given his ability to lead in the backcourt. He showed he could lead the backcourt with his ability to handle the ball and knock down shots in space. He did well to keep opponents on their toes with his ability to attack the basket and knock down shots. He showed off his range and ability to play with others as a scoring threat and defensive threat. He’s a wiry guard to keep an eye on out of Ridge View High.

Alex Dauska Alex Dauska 6’2″ | SG Charlotte Latin | 2027 NC was an impressive two-way presence on the hardwood for Team 1 at the Carolinas Freshman Showcase. He didn’t hesitate to step up on defense and guard multiple spots on the floor, showing off his length and strong-frame. Offensively, he showed he could do a little bit of everything with his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter and around the rim and get others involved. He built some solid chemistry with his teammates before the showcase was done. He was named to the All-Showcase team when it was all said and done given his play.

Caiden Jenkins Caiden Jenkins 6’4″ | SG North Raleigh Christian | 2027 State NC was another All-Showcase Team performer on the third team after the Carolinas Freshman Showcase concluded. He’s a versatile presence at 6-foot-4 that showed he could operate with and without the ball in his hands at the guard spot and was equally as effective as a threat shooting the basketball. As he improves his strength and athleticism in the weight room, he’ll be an intriguing name to track over the next four seasons over at North Raleigh Christian Academy.

Alex Sanford
Alex Sanford was a presence for Team 1 as a facilitator and glue guy on the hardwood. He’s a name out of Fayetteville at Trinity Christian School that should build quite the resume for himself over the next four seasons. He’s a presence that uses his quickness to his advantage as a defender to force turnovers and maintain his quickness offensively to blow by defenders. As he grows over the next few years, he’ll be an interesting guard prospect to track in NC’s 2027 class.
Phoenix Johnson
Phoenix Johnson
Johnson is a young floor general that showed off his ability to lead in the backcourt for the second unit. He didn’t hesitate to show off his ability to shoot with range as he put together solid contributions on Team 1’s perimeter attack. He was a confident ball-handler and dribbler that constantly looked to push the pace and keep others involved on the floor. As he continues to grow and add strength to his frame, he’s a name out of Virginia to keep track of at John Marshall High this upcoming season.
Eli Britt Eli Britt 5’8″ | PG Sumter | 2027 State SC was another guard prospect for Team 1 that showed he could make an impact on both ends of the floor. He took pride in his defense, looking to make defenders feel him at all times. Offensively, he showed nice range and touch on his jump shot from all over the floor. He’s a name in South Carolina’s 2027 class that should grow over the next few years given his feel for the game in the backcourt.

Omari Whiteside Omari Whiteside 5’11” | CG Shelby | 2027 NC was a terror in the painted area and attacking the rim for Team 1. He showed he could grab rebounds and get up the floor in a hurry as a lethal weapon alongside Caiden Jenkins Caiden Jenkins 6’4″ | SG North Raleigh Christian | 2027 State NC in the rotation. He even stepped out and knocked down shots to show off his shooting stroke. Defensively, he showed he could guard multiple spots and force turnovers. He’s a prospect out of Shelby High who had a solid feel for handling the ball with pace and creating off the bounce.
Milton McCray
Milton McCray
McCray was another guard in the Team 1 backcourt that showed off his range on the perimeter as a shooting threat. He was a fearless shooter that made some difficult shots throughout the day to show his poise on the perimeter. As he improves on his handling and learns to get others involved, he’ll be one to keep track of in the class out of CA Johnson High given his knack for shooting the ball with range.
Ashton Thompson Ashton Thompson 6’4″ | SF AC Flora | 2027 SC was a frontcourt menace who was hard to deal with in the painted area for Team 1. He’s got good instincts in the post as a back-to-the-basket threat who showed he can finish in traffic and through contact on numerous occasions throughout the day. He’ll be a prospect on the hardwood to keep track of just as well as a prospect to watch on the football field over the next four seasons out of A.C. Flora High.
Josh Gamble Josh Gamble 5’11” | CG South Florence | 2027 State SC was a prospect that provided a ton of energy for Team 1 with his ability to find others in space and force turnovers on the defensive end. He stepped up in a big way whenever his team needed a big stop or big play to get his entire squad going. He was an unselfish wing prospect who showed he could play with anybody else on the floor and find a way to make an impact right away. He’ll be at West Florence High over the next four seasons.
