Continue ReadingBeing able to play high level defense is an absolute wanted skill at the next level. Massaer was really taking that level of athleticism and ability to move his feet to take on all players. He has some skills that will refine in the next few years but he has the tools to really make an impact. The wingspan is ridiculous and if he is active with his hands at all times he is going to be a disrupter. That wingspan also allows him to not defend those quick guards so closely as he can take away a shot with a contest but also be far off away enough to defend the drive. He could be a really good find at the next level for sure.
Mason has gotten bigger and he was really playing a nice solid game at the lead guard. He moves well and he has some solid instinct. His shot taking was all high quality shots and he really knows how to get the ball to the right place. He recently picked up a nice D1 offer and he will continue to get better through time. He could end up 6’3 maybe 6’4 but there is a lot to like about what he can do.
Highlights
Tyrin is a lot more mature tahn the last time we saw him as his game has really taken a step up and the way that he is running the floor makes him a tough cover because bigs have to guard him and they cannot run with him in transition. He was getting out infront of the pack and he was finishing above the rim. His movement off the ball has improved as he was making ball watching defenders pay as he was the recipient of various lobs. His shooting is coming along but this kid is going to develop at the next level even more and he still has two solid years to improve his body and his game.
Manase is not at Highlight buthe is at Corner Canyon and the kid has some big time potential . He is a big body and he is strong. He cleans up the boards nice and his strength not only extends to the basketball court but also to the football field as he is one of those two way athletes that is getting run on the varsity football field. Manase has soft hands and he can finish around the rim, he has the quickness to move his feet and stay in-front of defenders when he switches off. Keep an eye on him in this coming year, he is the future of CCHS in the PF position.
Jax is not only good right now but he is still oozing potential and you see it off the bat. He is slashing to the rim and creating for everyone and when he is aggressive he really makes things happen. Unlike other players he knows how to use those active hands and he really disrupts, then you throw in the fact that he can grab and go and make things happen in transition he is tuff. Kid has a lot of upside and he has a high ceiling.
