Video games have become a huge part of our society. Phrases like “video game numbers” are now commonplace when describing an athlete’s performance. Well, in honor of National Video Games Day, I’m going to give you 5 players that could put up video game type of numbers this coming high school season.
Phifer could put up some huge numbers this season. He’s a consistent athletic mismatch with most teams not being able to match up with his smoothness off the wing. Phifer’s pull up jumper and ability to create space will supply him with plenty of scoring opportunities this season.
Habhab is a matchup nightmare and his numbers could portray that next season. Sometimes in video games you get those matchups where you just can’t stop a guy. Habhab could be just that. What are teams going to do to slow a tall and long 4 that can step outside and bury a triple just as easy as rim run and finish with force?
If you saw Haverkamp play over grassroots season, than you understand seeing his name here. He’s going to be a problem in high school season. If you want to talk about video game numbers, I’m willing to say that Haverkamp easily averages a double-double in points and rebounds this year. Oh yeah, he’s a plus defender as well.
Dillard II was electric in his junior season. Well guess what? He got even better over grassroots season. Dillard II could look like he has a cheat code this winter. He’s an electric scorer with the quickness and handles to create space and the jumper to fill it up when he does. Dillard II can catch fire with his shot and absolutely change a game.
Highlights
Lawson has a chance to unleash this season. The only person that can control Lawson’s numbers is Lawson. The young man is nasty with the ball and can seemingly make a play every time he touches it. He’s like playing with LeBron in a video game, he’s going to do something good every time he touches it.
