Continue ReadingIt’s been a while sense I watched Taylor play, but he reminded why he was so valuable. He’s evolved into one of the best two way players in the state, with a slick handle, and quick hands. He was his usual tough aggressive self in on ball defense, but proved that he’s a big time offensive threat.
The cupboard at Spring Valley is hardly bare at the point guard spot. Imperial is a talented player that will fit in nicely in the system. He is quick and has a lot of the physical tools needed to be successful, however it’s his mental that allows him to impact games. He did an advanced job of quickly recognizing zone and man defenses, while getting his team set up accordingly.
Payne planted himself firmly into the stockriser category. He’s evolved his game over the last 3-6 months, culminating with a tremendous performacnce this morning. He played tough interior defense, rebounded and showed terrific offensive skill. Payne stepped outside and banged several three pointers, putting together one of the stronger performances on the day.
Big day for the big man from Utah. Lemke had his way with defenders, scoring at will with his back to the basket. His combination moves were impressive, as he used up and unders and reverses around the basket to control the athleticism of defenders. He looked like a guy worthy of picking up D1 offers having just received offers from Morehead and Chattanooga.
Love watching players who improve their game, and Rabb has done just that. Last year he was primarily a rebounder and defender that played on the inside. This year he has stretched out his game, showing a nice perimeter skill set. Rabb has a good pull up jumper, is able to slash around finish the basket. Impressive early morning performance from a player looking like a potential stockriser.
