Payne planted himself firmly into the stockriser category. He’s evolved his game over the last 3-6 months, culminating with a tremendous performacnce this morning. He played tough interior defense, rebounded and showed terrific offensive skill. Payne stepped outside and banged several three pointers, putting together one of the stronger performances on the day.

Wanted to make sure I got a good look at Payne this week. He’s a tall player that has showed athletic skills, and he did just that on this day. I like his agility, as he showed the ability to simutaneously run the floor, catch and finish. He has good length and his athletic ability gives him a chance to be one of the better rim protectors next season.
