Steinbrink possesses a compact shooting form that may be leveraged well beyond the three point line, adding valuable floor spacing to a quickly improving Cherokee Trail group. On multiple occasions in his matchup against Rangeview, the guard comfortably knocked down jumpers multiple feet behind the arc. Either coming off the catch or while stepping into the shot, there was little the defense could do to slow down the guard outside of a hard closeout.

– Grandview – 2026
Charles was another active floor spacer, effectively knocking down deep threes off the catch. He proved shot ready off the catch, possessing plenty of strength from his base. Within transition situations, the guard did well to impact the pace of play, getting out quickly to be an outlet option. Defensively, the guard held up against opposing backcourt scoring threats, doing well at leading his opponent into help defense. Another aspect of his defensive impact was in the open floor, flying around to deflect or steal long pass attempts. His high motor and complementary shooting ability will allow Charles to be an impactful guard out of the gates for Grandview.
Braydon Jacob – Lutheran – 2024
Jacob is a common name worth covering for his shooting prowess, although he has earned this reputation over the years. Perfectly capable of knocking down an array of triples from all over the floor, the guard is among the most consistent perimeter shooters the state has to offer.
Mareon Chapman – Rangeview – 2024
Chapman possesses a high motor and quick jumper, making him one of the more exciting players to watch in the 2024 class. Effective stepping into deep threes or taking shots through incoming contests, the guard has a versatile perimeter game that is difficult to keep up with. Defensively, although undersized the guard brings tenacity attacking screens and handoffs, proving assertive on that end. He makes the most of his quickness, getting out quickly to take away space from opponents.

– Valor Christian – 2025
Esau will be an impactful player with Valor this upcoming season, possessing a refined perimeter skill set. The shooting guard consistently spaces the floor on fundamental catch and shoot opportunities, utilizing his height advantage to shoot over incoming defenders. That same advantage can be leveraged off the bounce as well, where he got to multiple step back jumpers in the mid-range. There is no doubt that the guard will not only be an impactful prospect, but an incredibly confident shotmaker for a team filled with floor spacers up and down their lineups.

The lone frontcourt prospect here, Caldwell has refined his shooting efficiency throughout the summer, adding a bankable skill to the table. It is rare to find 6’10 bigs stretch the floor as consistently as Caldwell, perfectly valuable as a pick and pop threat. He is still progressing as a downhill scorer, either attacking from the elbows or three point line. His ability to utilize counters while on the attack downhill will be an area worth looking at, certainly as a different avenue to getting hook shots or pivot moves at the rim.
