Saturday September 2nd we had the 1st annual inaugural Freshman Showcase at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.

We had exactly 51 players total in attendance with six teams of 8-9 players on a team. We now look at all six teams and break down each player.

We start with Team 1:

[player_tooltip player_id='2146268' first='Brock' last='Knee'] Arcadia

A bigger sized shooting guard is a three point sniper with a super quick release. He uses his size to get inside to score and will post up and fall away on his defender. He has quicker feet to defend on the ball defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986796' first='Peyton' last='Lubash'] San Tan Charter

An easy scorer from all levels. He hits catch threes from the parking lot with an elite quick release. He also happens to be one of the quickest and fastest guards. His speed is legit. Not many in the state can catch him in the open court. He can drive and kick it to a shooter and his bail out court vision is incredible. He made one bounce pass up the court on a rope impressively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950104' first='Jonathan' last='Mercado'] Chandler

A physical scoring lead guard. The lefty is strong to the basket as he will hesitate and get to the rim. He has a clean three point stroke and has the euro step in his bag. He can in and out and pull-up from mid to the three with deep range. He is a good passer in traffic and often uses his stronger frame to score thru contact with good body control.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] Sunnyslope (Pictured)

One of the top ball handlers and passers in the class. He is a true dimer with either hand and will throw full court passes look easy. His live dribble passing is elite for any class, let alone an incoming freshman. He has quick hands to steal the ball with speed to then race down the court and then seems to glide in the air with next level body control. He can also pull-up from mid-range off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146291' first='Jake' last='Steele'] Hamilton

A high motored wing forward will chase down rebounds in and out of his area. He runs floor for layups and plays smart defense. He seems to gravitate to the ball. He will block shots, collect steals and he always hustles on defense. He is a good passer and can blow by his defender for a bucket or grab the ball off the glass to score on put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1688131' first='Nicholas' last='Topolosek'] Liberty

A scoring combo guard can change speeds, and his pace with the ball is on point. He can pull-up from mid-range plus hit the catch three. He seems to always be in the correct spot and will rise up from both levels to score. He is a sneaky good passer and looks to make plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146244' first='Cristian' last='Uribe'] Perry

A combo guard with some size is a natural scorer. He has a good burst to get into the lane with body control around the post defenders. He can hit shots in the lane with a tough euro move plus fall away from his defender. He can hit the catch three and has quicker feet to defend on the ball. He scores it easily on the break and is a good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2149100' first='Jaxon' last='Whitlock'] Perry

A good motored forward does many little things. He will sets picks and hustles for those much needed 50/50 balls. He will score on put backs from offensive rebounds and will hit shots off the catch from the three point line. He smartly cuts to the right spots on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2149104' first='Leroy' last='Wood'] Perry

One of the better motors at the showcase. He rebounds the ball in and out of his area. He is a true chaser to seek the ball off the glass. He will score on put backs and has a stronger frame to handle the pounding inside. He is a good passer on the run and can do a spin move inside of 10-feet and fall away. He will also hit the occasional catch three.
