Today, we will be starting with our top five small forwards in the Class of 2024. Our latest rankings for the senior class have been updated on our website.
Cooper Flagg, Is arguably the top-ranked recruit in the nation for the Class of 2024 and could also have a bright future in the NBA. The 6-8 senior forward has a great combination skillset of size, speed and all-around athleticism. On the defensive end, he is a dominate shot blocker and covers a ton of space like a guard. He is also an elite rebounder where he averaged a near double-double last season for Montverde Academy. On the offensive end, Flagg has great footwork and court vision where he is considered to be one of the top underrated passers in the nation despite his size. He also adds a great jump shot where he can knock down from 15-feet and beyond as he continues to gain more confidence in his outside shot.
Liam McNeeley, A 6-7 senior forward is more of a traditional combo forward where he can score from the outside just as well as on the interior. He has a smooth release on his jump shot where he doesn’t get phased by pressure and doesn’t need to score the basketball in order to make an impact play. On the defensive end, McNeeley is very versatile where he can guard multiple positions and has plenty of speed to stay in front of the opposing guards. He also adds a ton of strength on the interior where he can battle for rebounds on both ends of the floor and finishes a lot of put-backs around the rim.
Khani Rooths, A 6-7 senior forward is a matchup nightmare as he covers a lot of space on the defensive end where he has great footwork and speed to match. He also has very good length where he can defend the post as well as stretch out to guard the perimeter. On the offensive end, Rooths is a very good shooter when it comes to scoring from the perimeter as well as a threat around the rim. Rooths is being heavily recruited by Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, Miami and several others.
Marcus Allen, A 6-7 senior forward and University of Missouri commit is back at Miami Norland after spending last season at AZ Compass Prep. Allen brings a combination skillset of length and explosive athleticism. On the offensive end, Allen shows a lot of strength on the interior where he can finish above the rim at a high level. On the defensive end, he is a leader and showed a ton of versatility last season as a junior where he can rebound and block shots at a high level. In order for Allen’s game to take the next step, he will have to become a better ball-handler as well as continue to gain confidence in his shot from the mid-range and beyond.
Kameren Wright, A 6-6 senior forward has a strong tendency and can shoot effectively from beyond the arc on the offensive end, as well as finish around the rim. He also has great footwork on both ends of the floor where he covers a lot of ground which causes havoc for opposing guards. Wright also adds great length where he can contest shots, as well as rebound and block shots efficiently for his size. On the defensive end, Wright is very active where he jumps the passing lanes where he can get steals leading into vicious dunks on the other end. Wright holds offers from Dayton, Marshall, Missouri, Murray State, Oklahoma State and several others.
