This past Sunday Prep Hoops put together a freshman (2027) showcase camp for the incoming high school class. Well over 100 plus players came from all over the dairy state in an attempt to make an impact. These players certainly were not the only ones that scored at a high level but are the ones that I was able to notice quickly while covering several teams.

He played well over each of the three games, always making a contribution in some area of the game. Checking off a box in box scores, if you will, on ways to help his team. A bucket here, a board there, then on down the line of the stat box. In the first game, he wasn't scoring as much as he did in the last two games. He still had double digits in rebounds, then added four assist and 3 blocks. With the next two games they were double doubles, with one being a 28-point outburst. He did enough to earn the statement of 'Let's keep an eye on this one's development.

I was only able to watch one game and parts of another one but this one had a game in his second contest. While we didn't keep game stats for the most part it was a high twenty point plus game. More so than just scoring I found him to make a few nice passes off drives and was a willing rebounder for his team. If grab it and go needed a definition, then it was Owen Prewitt for this contest.

This kid was in a zone for most of the night. In one game he hits 5 three pointers and in the next I saw him hit three more. There is a chance that the Popes of Pius pairs this one with dominant [player_tooltip player_id='1142142' first='Jaquan' last='Johnson'] who loves to drive and dish to his teammates.

I was able to catch one game of this prospect's play. I found him to be a very active player on defense, often picking up his assignment 3/4 court. While on the break he kept his head up looking down court. Oh, and I am being told he went 10-16 shooting from deep for the night. I call that pretty hot.
