A guy who we saw on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Staley is an impressive athlete with how fluid he moves at 6’7. With his perimeter switching ability and size, he’s a force protecting the rim with some impressive blocked shots. He also had a steal where he took it coast to coast for a layup finish. A power athlete, Staley had a few dunks that got the crowd going crazy at different Prep Hoops Circuit events. Playing for Glenville, one of the most athletic teams in the state and a football powerhouse, Staley could be an impact player for a team coming off back-to-back district titles.
Lake County is known for its football powerhouses with Mentor, Kirtland, Riverside and Nimmo’s school, Lake Catholic. After three touchdowns in their season opener and already holding offers from Bowling Green, Toledo and Minnesota on the gridiron according to 247 sports, Nimmo’s future likely stands on the gridiron. But on the hardwood, Nimmo is still tough to stop with how mobile he is at his size and strength combo. Another area where Nimmo can use his physicality is by setting screens, which allow his guards to create space or get a switch. Combine that with some back to the basket post moves and Nimmo brings a unique skillset that makes him a tough matchup for some teams.
The Horton brothers are on the move to Toledo St Francis and it’ll be interesting to see how much action they get as a duo and separately. While younger brother Alan is more polished, Logan stands a couple inches taller and has made some strides with the ball in his hands with the Ohio Buckets this spring before playing July with Michigan Unified. Horton is also a high academic prospect with a 4.0 GPA according to his twitter bio. Constantly checking in on a bigs development is crucial, so seeing Horton in the fall at the Toledo Top 64 will be another opportunity to see the progress he’s made.
