Kaden Mack Anderson of Minnetonka (Team Tyus). The way that Kaden was turning opponents around to get into space you almost wanted to say “magician” or think he had a “yo-yo control” on his man as he twisted and turned them with his dribble separation moves. The second move made several players look silly as Anderson got into his finish or creation.
Preston Crider of White Bear Lake ( Minnesota Magic ). One of the more consistently productive talents that we noticed was Preston who stands 6’4 and looks to have room to grow for several years. He was a smart and active rebounder collecting for putbacks and quick pushes, sets a mean screen clearing space, and the jumper when in space looked good as well.
Connor McDevitt of Burnsville (South Metro Hoops). McDevitt is a 6’4 forward that was constantly productive. He’s got a big frame with solid length and long arms, and he’s agile to go with it. All of that quality sized was used to run the floor getting ahead of the play and when you do that at this age, you give yourself a constant edge. McDevitt finished high percentage in the paint, rebounded, scored contested makes and scored uncontested because of the work to get to space.

of Eden Prairie (PJ Hoops). It’s quite a bit early to be putting a label on a guy as a top guy but Ty was the top 14u player this past spring/summer and he proved that once again on Sunday. The aggressive finishing above the rim and the regular numbers were of course a big part of things but to me things went deeper than that. Ty physically overwhelmed guys not only with size but also skill use with the pass, with the attacking and pull-up, and the finishing push. Defensively he was also very good. He got to his help, Ty was talking on defense, and he was reading the offense forcing turnovers.

of Farmington (

). Briggs was one of the biggest players at the Freshmen Showcase and one of the most productive. Around the basket Briggs showed quality body control and the right amount of pace on his balanced turns and completions. At 6’7/6’8 with relative strength at the age Briggs was simply too much to stop when on balance. Good post moves, good with the face-up decision making, and a regular number producer.

of DeLaSalle (PJ Hoops). Thomas is that type that screams potential and future production. He has length all over the place and you have to expect as the core grows he will become a solid prospect. He used that length for blocks, deflections and paint plays for his team. Decent handles and then the length to extend to finish the play. Played with a fun energy.
