Continue ReadingOne of the most anticipated returns in the state will be that of Adem. At the time of his injury, he was returning as the leading scorer in the state. With his rehab almost complete, look for him to challenge for a higher spot in upcoming rankings.
Highlights
Dickel can best be described as the straw that stirs the drink for the 5A favorites. Arbor has a lot of talented players, but he may be the most important. His ability to handle, score and keep teammates happy with his passing will be key for the Aggies to reach their goal.
Like Adem, McCall is prepared to make a major comeback. One of the top shooters in the game, has been rehabilitating his own knee injury, but looks to return form this season.
One thing Spring Valley isn’t short on is guards. The tempo changing Ned could be the X factor for the Grizzles this season as they move up to 5A. His top 25 rankings gives Spring Valley 4 players in the top 25 of the rankings.
Taylor could be one of the better stories of the high school season, as the talented guard will be returning after sitting out last season. He’s a dawg on the defensive end, using his on ball defensive ability to dominate guards. He has developed into a quality shooter, and ballhandler, making him one of the better two way players in the state.
The PG has some major wiggle. The jitterbug PG that stands at 5’9 has the ability to use his handle to breakdown defenders and create for himself or his teammates. The DR guard is one of the highest ranked Reno guards on the list.
Marquicias is a talented player that is coming off of a monster season for Wooster. The scoring PG has a outside shot to be one of the highest scorers in the state this season, coming in as a top 50 player.
Any team that is going to have success is going to have a player like Toby on their squad. He’s listed as a PG, however he’s more of a positionless player. Look for the PG to defend both backcourt spots effectively, while sacrificing his body for his squad.
I have a hunch that Williams could really pop for Mojave this season. The PG is a knock down shooter that should get a ton of looks as defenses look to key in on other Rattler Players. Expect his shot making and defense to be key if Mojave is to make history this season.
Reno has a trio of really good guards, Smerdon could be the best. In addition to leading the Huskies in scoring last season, he was also one of the best defenders averaging nearly two steals per game.
