Playing on the hallowed grounds exposes many of these players to new environments where they get to showcase their game and build some reps with their team. Here’s a look at some top performers from the Smartball Classic, Harlem World Classic, and Dyckman Basketball tournament throughout late July into August.
Nowah Hargrow
Nowah Hargrow
Nowah Hargrow is one of the top unheralded prospects in the NYC area. At 6-2 and still growing, Noah has carried his team with high scoring performances and clutch plays. On August 18th Hargrow scored 30 points to lead Clinton to a big win over Stevenson in the Harlem World Classic Playoffs . From his ability to shoot from everywhere on the court to score in transition, Hargrow has the potential to be one of the top scorers in the PSAL next season.
Kayden Mingo Kayden Mingo 6’1″ | CG Long Island Lutheran | 2025 State #131 Nation NY who plays with the NYC Rimrockers at the Dyckman Basketball tournament made it look easy during his 18-point performance on August 2nd against Riverside. Mingo’s play throughout the summer has earned him multiple players of the game honors and he has carried the Rimrockers to the Dyckman High School division championship on Monday, August 28th.
Tristian Burth
Tristian Burth
Tristian Burth is an excellent rebounder and rim runner that will make a huge impact for Stevenson next season. At the Smartball Classic, Burth showed much of a force he can be by blocking shots and on the defensive end and scoring inside by getting put backs and finding his spots to score in the paint.
Malik Fields Malik Fields 6’4″ | SG Cardinal Hayes | 2026 State NY is a young point guard that already plays as if he’s already ahead of his time. Fields can attack the rim with ease and draw contact for fouls, he can also shoot from the outside as well as find his teammates for easy points. At the Smartball classic Fields played a huge role in their opening night win against Scarsdale. As his career progresses, Fields will look to solidify himself as one of the top guards not only locally but nationally.
Chase Solano
Chase Solano
Chase Solano is one player that is not phased by playing in hot conditions. Chase led his team to a solid win over Eagle Harlem at the Harlem World Classic on a day where it was extremely hot. Chase has the ability to flourish in transition and shoot from outside. Chase is used to the weather as he is also an all-city performer on the cross country team this explains why on most days Solano is one of the most conditioned players on the court.
