Jimmie “Tripp” Haywood III Bellevue
Tripp has the strength to rise up from a balanced position in just about any scenario. He’s got that elite first step that keeps most defenders on their heels and allows an extra split second for him to rise up and bury the shot. He got to the rim a lot at the showcase but he was equally deadly from deep.
Edison Kan Edison Kan 6'2" | PG Glacier Peak | 2027 State WA Bellevue Christian
Kan was another kid who mixed up his attack well between going inside and pulling up from deep. He had a good feel for when the defense gave him a little too much space and simply took what the defense gave him. His shot was one of the prettier ones, almost always seeming to splash down or kiss the back of the rim and drain through the net.
Karson Maze Karson Maze 5'10" | PG Mead | 2027 State WA Mead
Maze had one of the quicker triggers at the event, recognizing space immediately and pulling without hesitation. He’s got some tight rotation on his shot and you could hear his treys whip through the net. He’s not real tall, but he showed good elevation on the jumper to get a good look over the top of contests.
Declan Crawford Edmonds Woodway
This guy was calm behind the arc all day. He ended up shooting the ball really well but he never looked as if he wanted to settle for the three. He almost always caught the ball looking to drive, and his ability to put together a quick little move off the dribble and then step back behind the line helped him create good looks in bunches.
Judah Noonan Life Christian
With Noonan, I kept watching and he kept making the threes. He did a good job understanding his skill set and how he could impact the game, running to the arc in transition and hitting three, after three, after three. He was efficient with his looks and seemed to let those makes fuel him on defense too.
Alex Beckham Lake Washington
Beckham was another player who knew how he could impact the game and put himself in good spots to succeed. He’s a smaller guard so instead of forcing shots at the hoop, he found open shots on the perimeter thanks to good movement off the ball and filling in transition. He was another super-efficient shooter behind the 3-point line who was ready to launch on every catch.
Marley Miller Marley Miller 6'0" | CG Edmonds Woodway | 2027 State WA Edmonds Woodway
Miller was one of the more effective shooters off the dribble. He did a good job sizing up his man, attacking angles, and using some quick footwork to create space and bury the jumper. You could see his confidence out there, especially when he sized up his man, realized they gave him too much space, and then fired away to drain the shot right over the top.
Jayden Hunt Lake Washington
Hunt started out impressing as a playmaker but then I saw him bury back-to-back threes with an ease that made me think, “Why isn’t he shooting more?” Hunt is a pass-first point guard but his ability behind the arc should help him stay with a balanced attack and keep defenses honest.
