It’s only a starting point for rankings and the list will grow and change with each coming update but we have enough information to start our 2027 rankings. Here’s a look at the top shooting guard prospects in the class. This does not include players who are ranked in the top ten in the class.
When forecasting prospects from our freshman showcase, Stewart stands out as a kid who could be a top 5-10 talent two years from now. Long and athletic, Amare looks like he could be 6’4 or taller before long and flashed some serious skills. Coach Smithart has a nice young player with Amare.
Stinnett is a pure shooter. As an 8th grader at Beth Haven, Michael Ray shot 219 threes and only 16 twos. Which may be the highest ratio I’ve ever seen. He also shot 51% from deep so he’s definitely a specialist. If he can continue to expand his overall skill set and become a more well rounded player, he could be a top 2027 in Louisville.
Highlights
Another big shooter, Rowlett looked confident firing from deep at our freshman showcase. He, like Stinnett, needs to continue showing he can be more than a catch and shoot player. Isaiah has good size and length and a frame that he should be able to add bulk to.
Highlights
Slone is one of the best 2027s in the mountains. After averaging just under 17 points per game as an 8th grader, Austin will likely be over 20 per game as a freshman. Slone is already a fairly efficient scorer at this point and will see his numbers go up as he gets stronger and becomes a better finisher at the rim.
Perry is a volume scorer who is on track to be one of the better players in Lawrence County history. Hayden is still very skinny and will need to bulk up to reach his ceiling. Adding some size will also help him become a better finisher and better at absorbing contact on his drives. Definitely a player to watch.
