Here's the top five West Virginia prep boys' basketball players who over the course of the summer season have seen a measurable increase in value due to their high level of play. The summer season always brings an array of events including summer leagues, AAU events as well as high school shootouts and college elite camps. All have produced great results in identifying prep players with rising stock through the summer season that have put these players squarely on the college coaching radar.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='1408804' first='Ammar' last='Maxwell'], 6'3” guard, Shady Spring HS (WV Crossover)

Ammar has dazzled crowds and coaches alike this AAU season while playing on the Big Shots circuit. Length and athleticism give him serious tools to play at a high level on both ends of the floor. His versatility at the guard/small forward positions gives added value to recruiters as well as create matchup problems for opponents. Recently offered by Glenville, also holding WVU Tech and Concord offers.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='1233991' first='Dawson' last='Lunsford'], 6'3” guard, George Washington HS (Team Loaded WV)

Lunsford has emerged as one of the top WV guards and likely GW's top guard option for the upcoming season. The George Washington High product's size and strength give him great ability to score as well as operate within a system. Dawson's summer schedule with Team Loaded WV has allowed him to display his array of skills on a talented roster. Dawson will represent WV in the US National Basketball Games in Atlanta Ga. in August.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='2092023' first='Koen' last='Sartin'], 6'4” wing/forward, Princeton HS (WV Crossover)

[player_tooltip player_id='2092023' first='Koen' last='Sartin'] while already being a household name in southern WV basketball circles is making sure the rest of the state has become familiar with his name and his game. Koen has been an automatic double double on the stat sheets while playing this summer for WV Crossover on the Big Shots Circuit. Another player blessed with great versatility; Koen has played whatever role he's needed to this summer. Koen's willingness to play where needed has shown his dedication to his teammates.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='2208724' first='Ashton' last='Gute'], 5'8” point guard, Cross Lanes Christian HS (WV Reign)

[player_tooltip player_id='2208724' first='Ashton' last='Gute'] has absolutely lit up the courts while on the Big Shots circuit this summer. The WV Reign point guard has given defenses fits with his willingness to get into the lane and create scoring opportunities for himself or teammates. Also, a tough defender under coach Nuzum who demands superior effort on the defensive end. Ashton's size does not hamper his game in any way, and he understands how to use it to his advantage.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='2208763' first='Ethan' last='McGee'], 6'4” guard/wing, Tygarts Valley HS (WV Reign)

[player_tooltip player_id='2208763' first='Ethan' last='McGee'] while not a household name yet in WV will be on college coaches' radar soon. His length and athleticism have been on full display this summer with the Reign and coaches have started to notice. Coaches' attraction to McGee should be the fact his ceiling is very high and likely far from hitting his peak athleticism. Potential while a dangerous word when definitely applies here.
