Continue ReadingThis year we have seen so much support from club to club from rival to rival as these Utah kids understand that one good player can bring multiple opportunities for them and others. Utah in general has been elevating their game across the board. The Class of 2o22 as of late brought a lot of BUZZ to Utah and now this Class of 2024 is carrying that torch as well. With that said There are two club teams that are making history here as they got an invite to THE U.S Open in Memphis, Tennessee. They chose the 4 best programs per shoe circuit and have created an ultimate bracket. This tournament will feature, 3SSB, EYBL, UAA programs.
16U Utah Prospects
The Utah Prospects 16U will be anchored by Top 100 talented PG JJ Mandaquit JJ Mandaquit 6'2" | PG Utah Prep | 2025 State #45 Nation UT who has been playing at an elite level. He has been adjusting a bit as he is figuring out what teams are trying to do to him defensively. The Prospects have been banged up but hope to get a healthier Ike Staley Ike Staley 6'6" | SG Lone Peak | 2025 State UT who provides size and shooting at 6’6. The other player that has played hobbled and was killing it was Augustine Ekwe Augustine Ekwe 6'10" | C Wasatch Academy | 2025 State UT the high flying big man who seems to be baffled at the players that try and challenge him at the rim because he is leading 3SSB in blocks. Sharp shooter was also playing through an injury in John Southwick John Southwick 6'3" | SG Utah Prep | 2025 State #234 Nation UT who was on fire. Then you have a player that is their best defender who was also playing through pain in Jax Allen Jax Allen 6'4" | CG Orem | 2025 State #391 Nation UT . Elijah Eschmeyer from Colorado (Peak to Peak Charter) has been p laying better and Chamberlain Burgess Chamberlain Burgess 6'9" | PF Lone Peak | 2025 State #214 Nation UT has been an absolute warrior out there averaging 12+ rebounds a game. Titan Larsen provides a big time scoring punch off the bench with his elite shooting. Teams at the next level cannot ignore his shot making ability.
Overall this team can play some big time defense and they can hit from all over. Their outside shooting is elite and if they can get to the rim they are tough to beat.
15U Utah Prospects
This young Class of 2026 Utah Prospect will be lead by Anthony Felesi Anthony Felesi 6'6" | CG Utah Prep | 2026 State UT who is climbing up the national rankings. If you wanted to start a team with a player he would be a lot of people’s first choice because you cannot find playmakers like him just anywhere. Anthony can score at all three-levels and he is not going to over dribble either. Then you have Dean Rueckert Dean Rueckert 6'7" | SF Timpview | 2026 State UT as a 6’7 snipper on the wing who can also mix things up inside and this team starts to become tough. Bryce Mella Bryce Mella 6'5" | CG Mountain View | 2026 State UT has been a solid piece of the puzzle because he does it all. He defends, rebounds and scores the ball well. Junior County Junior County 6'5" | PG Wasatch Academy | 2026 State UT has been one of those buzz names you have been hearing a lot because of his excellent play. In Las Vegas he was catching bodies! At PG one of the best distributors in the West Logan Hauestviet has been solid getting the ball to hot shooters and finding way to score without dominating the ball. Jeremiah Hammond is a scorer off the bench from Colorado that has been getting better and better as he gains more high level experience. Kai Wesley Kai Wesley 6'8" | PF Orem | 2026 State UT continues to improve his play all over the floor as a big. Not sure who will round up the final spot as they have had a few guest players fill in for the injured Luke West Luke West 6'2" | SG Bingham | 2026 State UT and Davis Fyans Davis Fyans 5'8" | PG Skyridge | 2026 State UT .
At the end of the day this team competes so well against the best that they do not care who they p lay, they just want to play and play fast.
