This kid is off the map and he is raw and has superb potential. He has some much room to grown in so many ways. He shoots the ball well but will get better because he has good mechanics, he can work off the bounce as he has some handles and he can get by people. He has a 7’+ wingspan and he uses it on both ends as he was blocking shots and he had a monster dunk in traffic full-extension that was impressive. You could see every college coach look at their booklet to double check who this kid was. He is out of West Virginia and he has some three-level scoring ability and he can defend at the three level as well. he is great on the help=side and his length bother guards. He is a D1 3 guard in the making for sure. Kind of reminds you of Tayshaun Prince.
Malick is a big that can move and when his motor is on he is a tough player. You can run offense through him as he is a willing passer and screener and you can actually run plays for him as well. He has elite footwork and he moves well off the ball as he has had some lobs and he is just a presence in the paint.
Highlights
This kid is a snipper and a player that can just jump shoot a team into a game or break one wide open. He is lethal from the anywhere on the floor. Although he is a big time shooter when he gets into the mid-range he can also fill things up as well. Defensively is where you can see that he can play at the next level because he can chase guys around and defend those tough players with handles.
Amari has been a force and where he has been the best is on the offensive glass. He has some of the best timing we have seen out here in Memphis as he has been active on the glass and he has this feel for the game and a knock for where the ball is going. He might have had three or more put back dunks that really crushed a team defensively as hey got a stop and he was able to just break a teams back with his active play. He is a 15+ rebound a game type of a player. He has a heigh ceiling and he has progressed a lot over the years.
