Twin Cities Takedown: Sunday Standouts

The [program_tooltip program_id='2075310' first='Northstar' last='Titans'] small forward is just so smooth and skilled. Everything he does on the court he makes look easy. As a scorer, the SF is really touch to stop. He can just do so much. He can space the floor, get buckets in isolation, and use his size to finish layups inside. In a blowout win on Sunday, Christofferson really caught my attention. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1617875' first='Joey' last='Butz'] -- SG -- [program_tooltip program_id='2209335' first='Border' last='Select Basketball'] </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Butz's ability to knock down open threes is second to none. The BSB shooting guard was on <em>fire</em> on Sunday. He made eight threes (!) in one game for his team in a winning effort. Butz's ability to convert on long range shots put a lot of pressure on opposing defenders. His mere presence opens up offense for all of his teammates. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1434056' first='Jackson' last='Hayes'] -- SF -- [program_tooltip program_id='2209335' first='Border' last='Select Basketball'] </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I think that Hayes could be a really good player at the high school level. Of course, like the rest of his peers, he has some developing to do. But for now, he is an effective player on the court. He rebounds and scores at a high level. In what was a really thrilling win for BSB, Hayes made numerous big-time plays. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Chrishon Woodward -- PF -- Circle City Shooters </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With time winding down in a critical Sunday afternoon matchup, Circle City Shooters had an opportunity to take the lead. Woodward got the chance to shine under the spotlight. He caught the ball and aggressively attacked the rim. Woodward made the layup but in the process had gone crashing into an opposing defender. It was an offensive foul. Woodward would later get another opportunity. This time he capitalized. At the FT line with seconds left in a tie game, the PF knocked down two huge shots, giving his team the lead for good. Woodward was fabulous all game but this final sequence shows mental toughness that most prospects don't have. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2175451' first='Graham' last='Sanneh'] -- SF -- [program_tooltip program_id='2075449' first='East' last='Metro Bounce'] </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075449' first='East' last='Metro Bounce'] could have a future star on its hands in Sanneh. The 6-foot-4 small forward can do many different things at a high level. Defensively, the small forward moves his feet well and is capable of blocking shots at the rim. He also showed some promise as a rebounder. On the offensive end is where Sanneh's true potential lies, though. The SF has a smooth jumper and is capable of putting the ball on the floor and scoring. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1390442' first='Agape' last='Keys Jr.'] -- PG -- [program_tooltip program_id='2139004' first='Team' last='Haliburton'] </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was able to watch Keys play a couple of times during the high school season. Sunday marked my first time seeing the point guard compete in person. I really liked what I saw. The [program_tooltip program_id='2139004' first='Team' last='Haliburton'] standout is a gifted scorer around the hoop and on the perimeter. He can knock down open threes and get downhill and finish at the rim. Keys has a solid performance in his team's championship-clinching victory. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
