The Rebels Foursome Plays Well:
Teon Tindal Teon Tindal 6'8" | PF Crestwood | 2025 State SC , Darius Franklin Darius Franklin 6'5" | SF Ridge View | 2025 State SC , Nigel Chivers Nigel Chivers 5'11" | CG Lugoff-Elgin | 2025 State SC and Bryson Taylor Bryson Taylor 5'10" | PG Dutch Fork | 2025 State SC all chipped in with solid performances here today for the Carolina Rebels. Tindal a post player from Crestwood HS does his best work around the bucket as a rim protector and staying active on the glass. Teon finished several buckets and delivered a few punches in return. He was able to connect on a few short jumpers from 8-10 feet out. Tindal finished with 15 points for the Carolina Rebels.
Franklin a wing player was able to connect on some mid-range jumpers while staying active on both ends of the court. Darius did a nice job of rebounding the ball outside of his area. He really did a good job of using his body at times on the way to the basket. Franklin plays at Sumter HS.
Chivers and Taylor made the engine go at times today for the Rebels. Chivers who attends Lugoff-Elgin HS came up big down the stretch in an opening round win. Chivers forced the game into overtime with a few last-minute buckets. Nigel finished with 12 points in the win.
Taylor who attends Dutch Fork HS was handling the rock from the backcourt. Bryson was able to push the ball up the floor and get to the rack at times today. He set the tone for the Red and Black in the victory. Bryson dropped 13 points in the win today.
Have Jersey Will Travel:
Brayden Hendrix Brayden Hendrix 6'0" | CG Christian Academy Of Myrtle Beach | 2025 State SC came out on for fire for Horry Select today. Hendrix who attends the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach finished with 17 points while connecting on 5 three-pointers in a win over Team Legend. Brayden plays with a great deal of confidence on the floor and especially behind the three-point line. Hendrix understands on how to get open for his shots and rarely forces his looks to the basket. Last month Prep Hoops saw Hendrix running with Team Fusion on the Grassroots Circuit.
Duo Leads the Way:
Jarius Davis Jarius Davis 6'4" | SF South Florence | 2025 State SC and Shawn Michael Matthews Shawn Michael Matthews 6'3" | CG Wilson Hall | 2025 State SC provided the spark for their squad today in a win at Fort Mill HS. Davis a left-handed guard-wing brings good versatility to the floor. Jarius can handle the rock from out top or simply get downhill. He will look to penetrate the gaps and knockdown an open jumper. He plays very active in the passing lanes.
Matthews has filled out his frame somewhat since we seem him last it seems. Shawn did find ways to get open on the floor for some good looks and scoring opportunities. Matthews is a solid system guy who really buys into the team concept at times.
Good To See You Back:
Brycen Redmon Brycen Redmon 6'0" | PG Westminster Catawba | 2025 State SC will be attending Westminster Catawba he informed Prep Hoops this fall. Redmon can really score the ball at times with his shiftiness to the rack. Brycen was able to crossover defenders on several occasions today with his ability to finish at the cup. He absorbed contact well while getting to the foul line on a regular basis. Redmon rarely left the floor today for Team Eat 2024.
Redmon mentioned to Prep Hoops he was home-schooled last season after previously playing at Fort Mill HS.
