Leading the St. Francis Prep Terriers at PG next season, will be relatively easy for Vere Anthony Vere Anthony 6'1" | PG St Francis Prep | 2025 State #300 Nation NY . Last year, he split the lead guard duties with Marist bound senior, Josh Pascarelli. And the ball is constantly in his hands on the AAU circuit, even when playing up on 17U. On Day 2 against Stepinac, Vere scored when it was necessary, and kept the young Terriers squad calm in pivotal moments of the game. Also, Manhattan College offered Vere in the middle of Team Camp. Another reason to watch what Anthony does next season.
Halon Rawlins Halon Rawlins 6'5" | SF Nazareth | 2025 State #387 Nation NY is a player that gets better every time we see him. With Nazareth, Rawlins is assuming a more prominent role on the offensive side of the ball. Rawlins has the trust of Head Coach, Gary Ervin, to make plays for his teammates. And at every crucial point, the ball was in Rawlins hands at Iona Prep Team Camp. With his size and length, Rawlins alters opponents shots at the rim. Also Rawlins, shows the ability to hit midrange and long distance jump shots. All of these signs point to him being a player to watch in the 2025 class.
Highlights
Markus Maxwell-Grimes is a very good shooter from long distance. Whether it’s catch and shoot or making a move to get to his spot, Markus has the ability to knock down shots at a high clip. At the Iona Prep Team Camp, his ability wasn’t a secret to opposing teams. While looking for his shot, Markus kept his head on a swivel, and wasn’t afraid to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. Basically this allowed him to create open layups and shots for his teammates. Therefore with continued growth as a shooter and facilitator Markus will be player to watch for Monsignor McClancy in the class of 2025.
Kaleb Popotte
Kaleb Popotte
Kaleb Popotte has a nice handle that allows him to change speeds and make impressive moves in the open floor. Coupled with a solid outside shot and Popotte is a definitely a player to watch in the class of 2025. And Popotte doesn’t shy away from a challenge on defense. For instance, in the second game of the day, Popotte forced a crucial steal against a fellow player to watch in the class of 2025. At this point, you should keep an eye on Popotte for years to come.
Jack Clancy
Jack Clancy
At the Iona Prep Team Camp, Jack Clancy was instant energy for St. Peter’s. When open, or with a hand in his face, Clancy is a confident shooter from downtown. As soon as he catches it defenders have to be engaged because of his quick release. Although he is a great shooter, he doesn’t hesitate to put the ball on the floor to find the open man. So far we like what we see from Clancy and he will be one of the best shooters to watch in the class of 2025.
Johnny Keenan Johnny Keenan 5'9" | PG Iona Prep | 2025 State NY is the lead guard for Iona Prep and showcased why on both ends of the floor against Molloy. Because his teammates made shots, Keenan piled up the assists. But he is a very good shooter in his own rite. When the ball is in his hands, Keenan is a threat from anywhere on the floor. Then again, he is a fearless competitor and will take the bumps necessary to get to the basket. Iona Prep is shaping out to be strong team and Keenan is a 2025 player to watch on that squad.
